I did-- heres what I thought:

- A lot of the acting and writing, especially dialog was awful
- It looked good visually, even though it was a cgi-fest :P
- Rorshach was pretty good-- he looked right with and without the mask.
- The ending was changed, yes.  It sucks, but it still has the same ramifications (sort of) so it doesn't really !@#$% up the movie.
- In fact, the movie is phenomenally faithful to the book.  they switch up the order of LOTS of scenes, take out my favorite characters (newspaper stand guy D:), but they still contain the whole plot relatively intact.  There is almost no character development though, and some of the editing isn't so great.
- The music?  there are some great parts when they play music of the era, which are perfect, but the score of the movie was really dissapointing overall.  From the first few trailers, I was expecting really stylized music that would sync really well with the film-- there was very little of that.  The part with the koyaanisqatsi music (Phillip glass), was *so* dissapointing, because in the middle of one song, they basically just cut out and changed to the other, right in the middle, and it sounded AWFUL.  HORRIBLE music transition.
- One of my favorite scenes, the one where the comedian is pacing and crying and spilling his guts in moloch's room under the flashing red and blue lights, is done SO badly in the movie.  Ugh.
- Fight scenes.  Lots of them.  With lots of slow-motion.  WHAT THE !@#$% IS THIS !@#$%.

Now, even though I have an endless list of criticisms for the movie, I still enjoyed it, and I'm glad I saw it.

of course it isn't as good as the book.  There's no comparison.  But through the bad acting (espcially the chick who plays jupiter/juspezyck), It still captured the STORY of the comic kind of well, and it was fun to watch.  But really, the atmosphere and character development was just not there.  That sucked. lol

Coming from someone who hasn't read the graphic novel yet, I thought it was pretty good. Zack Snyder has a love for silliness but he also has a very keen visual eye, which helped a lot in the unique look of the film.

I personally found the first half to be INCREDIBLE. The story was so engrossing, so brooding, and it totally drew me in. The second half though...it felt kind of...stupid, for lack of a better word. I found it hard to take anyone seriously. Still a good film.

I highly reccommend the Graphic novel, but I have no idea what it might be like after seeing the movie.

And Zack Snyder may have a love for silliness, but a lot of his silliness just made himm look like an idiot.  Sorry, but that was the worst and silliest sex scene I have EVER seen in my life (although we saw some !@#$%.  yay !@#$%)

I probably would have enjoyed the movie a lot more if I hadn't read the graphic novel.  Lucky you :P

I went to the midnight showing when it opened without knowing anything about the movie or novel at all, and I didn't even see any trailers O_o.
It could have been my spring break sleep-deprived mind, but I found the movie crazy good. There was a ton of stuff for me to take in and the action was awesome. Rorshack (I think) was an awesome character, definitely my favorite in the film.
Hah as a side note I also didn't realize that Manhatten's DICK was out until about halfway through the movie.

hmm actually I considered it a good movie, the first part is really loyal, but in the jail part he realized that he didn't had time so he cutted many cool parts, like the haloween part, but the basic idea is given, hmm IMO the acting was really good especially Rorscharch, 2nd Silk Specter acting sucked, hmm and Niteowl in the comic he was a coward, hmm I kinda hated that the watchmen had superstrenght and superagility, hmm and I also hated that some parts where not explained.. for example the artic part if you hadn't read it you didn't understood what the hell was that place, same with the cat (forgot his name) they don't explain what it is >_>, in general it was a great movie ;D I reccomend that people read the comic book first so they can understand it.

Was the ending in the movie the one everyone complained about in the preview showings - that the threat isn't the genetically engineered "alien", but a framed Dr Manhattan? Personally, I think the idea works a little better - it removes American dominance from the equation, which wasn't really addressed in the original series.

Anyhow, the whole series kinda annoys me for some huge glaring factual omission: it makes a big deal of the Doomsday Clock being set at five minutes to midnight in their alternate world, showing how high tensions are, right? .... in the real world, 1985, the actual Doomsday Clock was set at THREE minutes to midnight. So, what, the world would be safer WITH a vaguely amoral, nuclear-powered superman being used at the whim of the US government - AND Nixon?

In the comics the clock gets like 1 minute closer for every chapter. They completely missed this in the movie.

They also missed two of my possible favourite moments from the comic, though they kinda just changed one.
Just before Jon leaves, in the comic Adrian asks him if "He did the right thing in the end", and Jon replied that "Nothing ever ends".
After they break Rorschach out of jail, a gang go and kill the original night owl.

They also didn't explain the big blue cat at all in the film, so they was no reason to include it except to confuse people. I had to explain it to my friends XD

I didn't find the acting very bad at all, in fact the only part I felt wasn't that good was Night Owl's "Nooooooooooooooooo!" right at the end. Other than that it was quite acceptable really :P

The slow-mo was annoying  but to be expected of the director I guess <_<

The music didn't sync very well with the scenes if you asked me, and why oh why did they get My Chemical Romance to do the track that played during the credits?

Regardless, overall it's quite faithful to the book and possibly the greatest film of 2009.

GOD, wasn't it? Jesus Christ. Blatant pornography with almost no point whatsoever, and ending with the horrible orgasm joke. It SUCKED.

I saw it last night with my boyfriend. I really thought it was awesome, although I haven't read the graphic novel. I didn't find the acting bad either. I thought casting Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the Comedian was a good choice. I must admit that Silk Spectre II was a little annoying, though.

Dr. Manhattan is just pure badass.

I laughed harder at Flight of the Valkyrie (I think that's the song) during the Vietnam scene.

Yup. You should have seen my mate when we went to go see it. He's an anime-nerd and was seriously hyper before and during the film :P.

Edit: Quote fail >_>
