I have a tenner left from my spending spree. Now I want a Wii RPG from Virtual Console.

So. Which one?

Secret of Mana
or
Super Mario RPG.

Secret of Mana if either. But Shining Force 2 is better then both IMO. Although thats actually a SRPG...

I'm normally a fan of traditional style RPGs, but mixing them with strategy elements just pisses me off D: *hates strategy games*

Secret of Mana's strong point is it's story and it's "Zelda with Stats" gameplay. The battles are in real time, fast paced, and enjoyable, and the story sucks you in. If they ever decide to release Seiken 3 for the VC, I will buy one immediately lol

SD3 is probably my favourite game ever, but I've never been a SoM fan.  Go with Mario.

It all depends of tasted, IMO you should choose  the correct one.. since we might give you the wrong choice.

I only played Secret of Mana once, just the begining; while Super Mario RPG I played almost completely, but it was a long time ago so I don't remember very well -.-
From what I remember, Secret of Mana is an action-RPG, while Super Mario RPG is turn-based, isn't it? Super Mario RPG is very, very good (when I first played it I though it would suck, but it's actually an excelent RPG) - the battle system is very good, quite creative; the story is very funny and interesting, and the graphics are good for the SNES. From what I remember, the difficulty was quite well adjusted (not too easy, not too hard), and you won't get bored easily.

I got Super Mario this week and when I get £7, Secret of Mana is next.

Decided to get both.
