This is a slap -> duel situation

http://anime-4ever.org/mp3/Pianoism.mp3

sadly ive lost the source, i think you use FL too
so i wouldve uploaded the .flp, but when windows doesnt start up and you have to format
no amount of tears help... ill remake this whenever (EDIT: i found the source, its abit older)
(i used sytrus / grand piano on both)

i listened to a song when i got this idea, so if its idea stealing or not, i cant remember
to be fair, lets just compete over quality of work...
but this is old, and its not the latest version i made when i had to format
its just a mp3 i once sent to a friend

i also remade the LBA2 theme once (dont know if ive already posted this)
http://anime-4ever.org/mp3/LBA2.mp3
have source, but this is my pride :P (if you want the MIDI i have it!)

i had a go at your Luin tune too... but it turned out !@#$%
http://anime-4ever.org/mp3/Luin_4.mp3
i might try to finish it once and for all i hate unfinished things

I didn't understand... you've remade QK's themes, that's it?
The Luin remake is not bad, I think. It completely changed the essence of the song, but this can mean something good, depending on how you use the song.
BTW, what does LBA2 stands for?

Not bad remixes and stuff. So is this a competition of some sort?

"to be fair, lets just compete over quality of work..." ?

I think he just thinks his music is best and wants to see if you can beat him. Total bollocks though, QK's music has far more depth. (No offence Gonzo).

Do you mean anybody in the world, or on this forum? If the world then...
1. Junya Nakano
2. Masashi Hamuaza
3. Yasonori Mitsuda
4. Koji Kondo
5. John Pee
6. Nobou Uematsu
7. Yoko O.

In case you all didn't know, John Pee did most of the tracks from a japan only snes game called "Treasure Hunter G" and Yoko O. did Crystalis. The rest should be pretty familiar.

On this forum, QK and Scooternew are pretty much even...

Don't get me wrong, QK is a good composer and all, but sometimes I think you use incredibley high-quality samples to cover up your mostly weak and forgettable melodies... well, maby not so moch forgettable, but your samples just blend in to much with each other and I can barely hear whats going on with out having to put a speaker to my ear. It's like hearing a blurry image, if that makes any sense. What would QK do if he was trapped in the Nes/Snes era?

Uma's got a pretty good point there. :P Of course there will always be better musicians and composers.

I wonder what I would do if I was stuck in the NES era... *thinks up a song

Woah... I wasn't expecting such a calm response... thanks!

I'm sure if I heard more of your music, I could justify myself better, but your like... selling the only soundtrack you have that I know of(Crystalline River). I never buy songs... *CoughGalbadiaHotelcough* Not even songs with words... *CoughMp3LeechSitescough*.

Why do you all make us buy stuff for money anyways? I could understand if it was like, a big release that everyone including people that don't go to ZFGC would buy, but... i'm pretty sure your target audience for Crystalline River is ZFGC. Or unless your advertising on other sites... but as I digress...

Oh, and about the NES thing, you should really try it. I've done some stuff using square/triangle waves and NES drums and it really helps with creativity. My bro always tells me "Setting limits for yourself is the best way to get creative" or something like that...

The selling of the Crsytalline River soundtrack was mostly to earn some money to fund the project. As it is I'm paying out of my own pockets for the game to be made, and I figured I could get some help by selling the soundtrack.

For my next album, I'm considering just releasing the thing for free. I too don't really like paying for things :P

As for the NES music - I am working on some songs. I might post them later.

Sorry, nope. The ZFGC audience is to small, we will be advertising it as much as possible once its released. Fusion / CR was even on Image-Of-The-Day at gamedev.net for a couple of days last week :P.
