@sjegtp: Generally MIDI making goes by a lot faster than working with higher quality samples and such. This is mostly because when you have MIDI, it does a lot of work for you. With MIDI, you can never clip, and there are generally no effects like reverb or EQ that you can use on your tracks. When you get into higher quality audio making, there are thousands of things you can do to your sounds, which takes up time, as well as you have to master your music so it doesn't clip. Generally, there's just more work involved when you're working with the higher quality audio stuff.
