Well! It's been a while, hasn't it? A whole month!
Well, it hasn't been in vain! During this time we've been discussing different modifications and such that we would like to implement to make the forum a little bit more appealing for our users!
New Features for Users:
- -Awards System
- -Shop System
- -Working Currency System
- -New Resources/Downloads Systems
Awards System
The new awards system allows us to give users visible perks for various things such as resourcefulness, excellent project design, member of the month status, etc! Each award granted to a user will give them a specific number of rupees to use at the shop!
Shop System and Currency System
The shop system includes a working currency system that can be used to purchase a variety of things on the forum! Anywhere from using rupees to buy a download, to using rupees to buy out of a ban, you can do it all! Beware though, theres a certain number of each item available! So trading and auctioning prove useful!
New Resources/Downloads Systems
Users browsing the forum may notice that there is no longer a standard board for Completed Projects, or Resources. Instead these have been replaced with a resource management mod that allows quick and easy access to existing downloads, and allows users to upload their own resources to the forum! Each resource and project file uploaded will now have their own specific page that includes user voting! Projects and Resources with high votes may result in an award! Just tune in to see :P

You may also notice that there has been a restructure in staff. Do not be alarmed! We're utilizing the head mod system once again. Your two Head Mods are TomPel and DanTheMan! They will take over the duties of managing the global mods under them, along with creating rules for the parts of the forum they're primarily assigned to. Along with this restructure, if you have an issue with a specific moderator, make sure you bring it up with the head mod in charge of that particular moderator; they will deal with it appropriately.
There are many many more changes that aren't public, however we assure you, the hiatus was not for nothing! We hope to see you in the forums, and we hope you enjoy these new changes!

Okay, that all sounds nice and cool and great. Also, it's great to be back.
Not a big fan of the merging of the Entertainment and Gaming boards though.
Oh, and another thing, how long have the forums been back up? Because I just decided to check, not expecting them to be back yet, and it seems like I came on just moments after it became possible again. >_>

Is the shop open yet? I'm guessing no because I don't see it anywhere.

What? We're back up and running again? I went on the chat today, (read:yesterday...[I haven't slept yet...it's the weekend..]), and was told there would be some sort of notification to members that we're back up. Good thing I checked otherwise I wouldn't know the forum was back up.
Anyway, although I haven't noticed any major changes thus far, (outside of those already mentioned...that's probably a good thing), I feel assured that the changes made should be highly beneficial to both members and staff. Welcome back and all that everyone.

i was told there would be some sort of notification to members that we're back up.
I got an email saying i had a PM from here, which said that ZFGC was back up. Cheered me up and a half. Im liking it, not too sure about gaming and entertainment being merged.

I like how everything is currently. Good changes guys. In the downtime of ZFGC, Wanilla site and forums got up and running, & I started a web-comic which I will update twice a week. I have made 4 comics so far and the site's not even done being set up. :D

To each there own. To be honest the reason for the down time was not entirely just for updates. There were other reasons behind it.

I agree. But it was a nice break. I had a lot of time to work on Wanilla and spend more time playing video games instead of posting on here.

Currently the system is 2 head mods, each with a team of 4 moderations.

Ah glad the layout is a lot shorter, but it's similar to RGF's now. Oh well, like the updates. This shop system should be fun.

yeah, I'm experiencing the same problems with the spam forum. It's probably a member group problem. It'd be awesome if you could fix it up nice and quick :)

The Spam Board problem has been resolved thanks to Windy (and I think a few others perhaps helios helped too) It might still be buggy, I'm not sure.
As Helios said we were down for a month, not just for repairs, but for a mental break for *everyone*. As I remember I was quite stressed out (and actually 'quit') before the forums were taken down. I'm currently still assuming my position with a lesser mainstream roll (at the moment). I'm also ill at the moment, which has put me out of sorts for the past week or so. I'm glad we got everything up and running though. :)

I had no problems not being at zfgc for the month. I'm sure if i really wanted to leave zfgc, i could.

@Buster, InvaderLupus, blue_chu_jelly: Try now. Somebody has been setting the primary rather than secondary memory group on your profiles. It should hopefully work fine now.

Occassionally admin approval is required (I believe this is to stop spam-bots), just keep posting them and we will approve them when we get a chance.
