Okay, so we all know what that God Of War Collection for PS3 is, right? God of War and God of War 2, two PS2 games, remastered with high definition graphics, and with trophies added for both games.
My question to you is, what other sets of two PS2 games would you like to see put in an HD collection like this. Here's a couple of mine to get you started:
Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 (substance/subsistence versions of course, including subsistence disk 2)
Viewtiful Joe and Viewtiful Joe 2
-
o.0 you say PS2 games and you list multiplatform games :P
*is confused*...
If that's the case, then I choose MEGAMAN COLLECTION and MEGAMAN X COLLECTION >=YD
-
True, the games I listed are multiplat. I still want them in collections though, goddamnit. :P
Also, holy !@#$% that'd be so many megaman games in one place.
(Speaking of which, I just got Megaman Maverick Hunter X for PSP, and its epic)
-
Why limit this to PS2 titles? I want Commander Keen!
-
The original Rainbow Six, I'd also like to see FF7 and FF9 remastered even though 7 is hugely overrated and everyones already fed up of it :P
-
Dark Cloud and Dark Chronicle ftw.
-
The original Rainbow Six
Or at least they bring the tactical aspect back into the games...
Hmm, I guess I'd actually like to see a remake of FF8. I actually liked it. Only problem it had, IMHO, was the GF cut scenes and when you got the ability to tap square for great justice even they didn't seem so bad XD
As for non-PS2 games...every pre-Morrowind Elder Scrolls game =P
-

As much as I loved Vegas, I hated the fact they left out the whole tactical side to it. It just became a harder call of duty.
I'd also say a remake of Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis, but with ArmA 2 you can just remake the whole CWC campaign XD.
-

This, but I'd like to see FF8 among those as well. I think it'd be great to see both the Jak & Daxter series, plus the Sly Cooper games remastered, although they're supposed to be cartoony, it'd be sweet. I'd also love to see Jet Force Gemini come to the Xbox Live Arcade like Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie did.
-
I'd pick shadow of the colossus. 1080p with 60 fps and it'd be perfect. :)

Yeah we need a FFVIII HD package in the FFVIII-2 Box!
btw. a FFX-2 styled riona fake ;D (http://features.cgsociety.org/galleryimages/8/MUNCH_RINOA4_medium.jpg)
but people steal so much things these days that its easier just to exchange some names inside of it to have the feel of the original
-
CROC! Why has nobody said Croc yet! It was amazing!
-
Oh G-Police!
Maybe we'll get that 3rd game aswell!
-
Non, just leave the games the way they are.
-
FF7, OOT would be cool, but would probably ruin it's title?
-

Oh God yes, I second this.

Would be sweet; along with Ico. That way they can have an HD Ico and SotC when Project TRIco comes out :P

They absolutely need to do this. If nothing else, they need to rerelease Ico so that the hundreds of thousands of people that missed it the first time around have the opportunity to play it without spending a crapload on eBay for it. Hell, make it a pre-order bonus.
-
Oh G-Police!
Maybe we'll get that 3rd game aswell!
G-Police! Respect.
There are God of War remakes coming? !@#$% yes, more of a reason to get a PS3... also MGS4 and LBP and GT5 and Lost Guardian and Uncharted.
Personally I'd like to see something like Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World redesigned in nice HD. Pokemon Red and Blue would be cool too, except keeping the same top-down view... it'd basically look like a HD Animal Crossing. I'd also redesign the original Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy like this, but only because I love classics. If I could choose something more obscure I'd say something like Rampage or World of Goo, and if I could choose something more contemporary I'd say Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie, and yeah, SotC, ICO, MGS2 and 3.

I'd like to see some of Capcom's less mainstream titles get remakes... Namely Little Nemo the Dream Master... One of my favorite non-megaman titles from Capcom.

/\ This, or some of Capcom's other games
Zelda 1 is an interesting idea, that would be interesting to play...
OR I'd like to see a remastering (or remake) of Battletoads, what could be done with that now?
I would wish for a relook at least of Rocket Knight Adventures/ Sparkster, but Konami already has the idea :D :D

I loved those games! Too bad the art direction is really bad in the 3D version :/

Oh man that is a horrible idea. Leave those games alone, please. They look and play much better in there pixelated form. If they convert them to HD, the feel and effect get totally destroyed. Because you would get people whinning about that they don't like the direction the games were taken.
No thank you classics should remain classics. Don't convert them. Leave them pixelated.

I actually started on a high res pack for Dobutsu no Mori, but didnt get very far as I couldn't enjoy the game :P

I disagree completely, and I think you've misunderstood me slightly, but whatever.

Wait, Somebody else has actually HEARD of those games?! Thank god for that. Was getting worried, thought I was imagining games -_-
-
Space Quest, Kings Quest, and Police Quest.
-
Castlevania 1 - 3 along with the Gameboy(not advance) games.
U.N. Squadron into 3d
Resident Evil 2 <---must
Kingdom Hearts first one
Diablo(and maybe 2 :P )
Icewind Dale 2
Starcraft
One of the original Forgotten Realms games from 20 years ago made into a DA:O style
GG Shinobi
Final Fantasy 6,7,8,9,Tactics(psp dont count lol), or the Legends games
SMRPG
Megaman X2
Perfect Dark 64
Long list but meh
-
Conker's Bad Fur Day (with original Multiplayer intact) Or more importantly, the Heist multiplayer game >_>
-
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Seconding this so I can actually get a chance to play it. And SoC cos I missed that :(
-
Well if you want a remastered version of the story part, the xbox version more than suffices... I personally enjoyed the Heist mp mini game almost as much as the main game, and it wasn't in the remake :[ If I knew how, I'd try to create a source mod of it, but alas, I suck.
-
Perfect Dark 64
Perfect Dark is coming to XBLA soon with updated HD Textures and such, as well as Xbox Live multiplayer. :)
Conker's Bad Fur Day (with original Multiplayer intact) Or more importantly, the Heist multiplayer game >_>
4J should definite work on this next after Perfect Dark. I mainly played War on the Total War map. It's still fun to this day.

The singleplayer in the xbox version is still is good play though there are some things that are sure to disappoint but I love the updated graphics for it though but it was probably too soon for an overhaul for the game. They should have just stuck with making the sequel but they had to cancel it or put it on hiatus.

I swear I posted in this topic... anyways, Majora's Mask, preferably in Twilight Princess style.

No it wouldn't. It would completely destroy the harmony that is Majora's Mask.
-
No it wouldn't. It would completely destroy the harmony that is Majora's Mask.
Why is that? Is it because "Oh my god Twilight Princess is so stupid, waggle is so dumb get rid of it nintendo you're the worst company in the world!!!!!!!!!".
The graphics of Twilight Princess, ESPECIALLY in the Twilight Realm would fit amazingly nice with Majora's Mask, especially the atmosphere that was given off during the final hours. If just that alone could be given off from N64 graphics, imagine that with much prettier graphics. I wouldn't even mind the Twlight Princess controls (Wii version) if they decided to throw them in.

The graphics of TP in MM would fit quite well, same if they redid OOT. But yeah "motion control" would ruin it :P

Actually, I am maybe the only one (or at least one of the few) that thinks Nintendo did a great thing by focussing more on user input instead of more visual detail. All that visual detail can look good, but for me it destroys a lot of what made gaming fun.
Two reasons why not:
1) The graphics of N64 games were very low, you needed to imaging the extra details yourself. And everyone imagined it differently and when the game gets a graphics update you'll always discover that the added stuff is not what you had imagined all this time. Ergo, destroying the experience and fun you had of the memory.
2) TP's graphics do not fit MM. Yes, MM had parts that looked dark and menacing and TP's Twilight area's also looked pretty doomed, dark and menacing. But the beauty of MM is that it blended the dark and menacing with vibrant and lightheartedness. TP's graphics are kind of grimy and moody. Even the parts that represent some fun, carnaval and party town still had the grimy and moody aspect in the graphics. MM had far more vibrant colors and graphics that could actually make you forget that the moon was falling. You could use TP's graphics to accentuate the dark and menacing aspect of MM, but you would completely destroy that part of the game, that let you forget that there is an imminent danger.
The graphics of TP in MM would fit quite well, same if they redid OOT.
No it wouldn't. Again the grimy and moody aspects of TP, would ruin the vibrant and lively aspects of OOT.
-
Yeah cos everything was vibrant and lively when everyone was !@#$% dead ;)
-
Yeah cos everything was vibrant and lively when everyone was fuggin dead ;)
That is just it. The only dead village in OOT is the future Castle Town. In Kakriko Village everyone has build a new live and has settled to just go on even under the dire circumstances. In the past Hyrule all the villages are still lively and vibrant.
With MM Clock town is for the biggest part of the 3 days a lively and vibrant town, where the people do not really live in despair of the moon. And then you have other places, like the Zora's Domain, Deku Palace and the Observatory.

*floats into the topic* oh, I thought I smelled burgers... :[
-
a Link to the Past. they might have to make link look a little more normal than he does in the concept art though. (I dunno LA 3D did a nice job)
either the first Star Ocean or Tales of Phantasia.
either Castlevania I-III or IV
Megaman II
(oh yeah I'm back)

I would to see LTTP in 3D. I know, 2D to 3D but hear me out. Here's why
-3 Starting dungeons, 7 other dungeons and a final dungeon? UH YES PLEASE!!!
-Alot of side quests as well. Does it get any better?
-The graphics of it's age. YUH HUH!!!
-The story was easy to follow and fun to be part of.
-The game was awesome.
-Imagine if it had the graphics(similar to) and mechanics of OOT. Epicness! But no TP. Too realistic for LTTP

See one of my earlier posts on why this is a bad idea. Some games are classic just because of the limited graphics, audio and hardware it ran on. Upgrading it with such a leap would disappoint everyone.
This topic started with God of War. Going from PS2 graphics to PS3 graphics are actually mice step. Nothing can be really added. The models are smoothed out with some more polygons, but nothing more. Going from SNES to N64 or N64 to Gamecube/Wii, are actual giant leaps. SNES to N64/Gamecube/Wii is going from 2D to 3D and going from N64 to Gamecube/Wii is going from cartridges to store game data to DVD's to store game data. Eventually you will end up getting disappointed.
-
Exactly, hence the title of the topic being "Remastered" rather than "Remade".
-
I swear I posted in this topic... anyways, Majora's Mask, preferably in Twilight Princess style.
I think I would probably even play it then; or at least give it another go... Well, as long as they don't make the faces look so retarded as they do in TP :x Peter Pan Link is not meh Link :(
-
The PS2 Kingdom Hearts games and the PSX and PS2 Final Fantasy games would work well.

LOL! Believe it or not, I have a friend that looks just like Link from TP, except his hair is a little darker.
On topic, call me lame, but I'd like to see the original Battlefield 1942 have a complete graphical revision. Maybe some better collision checking as well. That would be nice.
... maybe Blaster Master too... oh wait, THAT BE DONE!!! WHOOOOO!!!! XD :P

I have it for PS3. It was insanely addicting for a while, but I don't play it much anymore. Good memories though. ;P

Hal's classic console tester game Air Fortress! =3
Still have the cart sitting in muh room

Kingdom Hearts, seriously. I loved the game, don't get me wrong, but there are some glaring flaws, such as how long it takes to heal yourself. I found myself dying a lot simply because I was being overwhelmed and was unable to heal myself without being interrupted. Also, the entire Command system needs to be redone. I can see a system similar to what is used in Zelda in its place. Being able to swap out items, abilities, etc. in the heat of combat would be nice as well.
As for some non-PS2 games...

Morrowind? You can download third-party tools and mods for that to make it looks fairly awesome. Better Heads, Better Bodies, and Morrowind Graphics Extender are good places to start ^^

Yeah, what bethesda should really do is combine both morrowind and oblivion into one... and add a new region :P
-
Nah, I didn't like Oblivion as it came. It was FPS-RPG Hybrid that was too much FPS and not enough RPG. Your skills, stats and level meant absolutely nothing since all enemies levelled exactly in time with you -_- A max-level character in an RPG should be as a god amongst men, capable of slaying all but the gods themselves without breaking a sweat, not still able to get owned by a random bandit wearing near-full daedric armour >.<
I much prefered Morrowind's combat system since you knew it was an RPG combat system, whilst Oblivion...yeeeah. I did download a few mods (Deadly Reflex and Unnceccesary Violence) which added loads of new attacks and the like to the combat systems (the performance of which was highly dependent on your characters skill and respective level compared to your opponents), as well as mods to remove/limit the level scaling (OOO, Fran's, MMM, etc) and it became much more enjoyable =P
Besides, we all know that the game they should remake is:

OR maybe the could just make one gigantic glitch for us to play :P

Daggerfall was very bugged sure, mostly because nobody on the team apparently had more than a vague idea what any code except what they wrote actually did, but a remake would have to be from near-complete scratch anyway code-wise, as Bethesda have pretty much admitted to losing the code for it XD
It's still one the largest, most in-depth and intriguing RPGs out there, and the almost completely randomly generated quests and dungeons is becoming increasingly rare nowadays outside of Roguelikes (and it was always rare) despite adding near-unlimited replay value =P
How many other RPGs have a world map it takes 50 hours, real time, to cross on foot?
-
I always fancied remaking Morrowind in Oblivion's Editor... Man, I wish my disk wasn't scratched :/
-
I've never been a big fan of Morrowind :x... Or Oblivion really. I own them both though o.0 odd how that works out.
Another game that'd be sweet to see remastered would be Castlevania 2; great game D:

Haha, I'm not saying I didn't enjoy daggerfall, I did, its just it would have to be heavily remastered and I still think the end product wouldn't be as good as morrowind. But I may be wrong...
-
I wasn't challenging your enjoyment of the game, just lamenting my wish that more games delivered similar features ^^
A team actually was working on Morrowind in Oblivion, and a tool used to exist to convert TES3's .esp/.esm files to TES4 ones (not dialog or quests but pretty much everything else), though a cease-and-desist stopped it (it was a bit of a gray area legally).
Hmm, Neverwinter Nights would be a great game remastered =P

good call, I loved NVN. Only completed it once though.

I think it'd be awesome to see Dragon Quest 7 remade! Had such a long story! that it'd be awesome to see it in at least ps2 graphics.
