I want to meet this guy and shake his hand. He makes a lot of good points that are both well thought out as well as rarely brought to light. While obviously some portions of those videos were slightly skewed towards his own personal bias, (which can only be expected as original thought stems from opinion), he paints an overwhelmingly accurate picture of gaming conventions and culture as whole. I'd like to point out that I don't necessarily disagree with his preferences, (in fact I almost complete agree with them).
I particularly liked the various parts discussing the "hardcore" gamer, which are very true. As much as I hate to say it, the only friends of mine that play games fall squarely under that self-proclaimed label. They refuse to play anything that isn't a shooter, (first or third person), or a sport game. A couple of them play WoW, but that's about as far as they're willing to stray from the mold. I have no problem with people playing shooters or sport games, but when they refuse to even TRY something different before proclaiming that it's "gay"...well, then there is a problem. It's extremely frustrating and honestly just sad.
It's also sad that he hasn't really covered the idiocy and futility that is known as "fanboyism". If there is anything possibly worse than the "hardcore" gamer it is the dreaded fanboy. I can only assume that he's planning on creating at least one video based on internet drama amongst gamers. *crosses fingers*
