With YoYoGame's latest blog entry, me and my team now have a very high chance of going commercial. So we're going to look for better artists.

Does anyone know where I can find/hire spriters? (Except Spriters Resource as there's no 'Looking for...' section)

If you can get someone to make your sprites for free then by all means do it.
PS What game is that on your profile pic?

If you're planning on hiring spriters; you're better off having some money put aside to throw at em first <_< Most talented seasoned spriters won't jump head first without a little green.

PS: When a company publishes your game, 90% of the time, they become the intellectual owners of that property. Also, a company has to make a wave to be successful :P

YoYo's announcement is beyond lackluster :\ Don't put too much faith in them.

Just what I thought at first mamor. I've sent them an email requesting the legality of what they plan to do. And if I like what I read, I'll take it. Else, they can !@#$% off.

I'm really sorry, but just because Yoyogames is aiming on becoming a publisher doesn't increase your chances of going commercial. For one, you're game is based on an IP of Nintendo, and you have to remember there are hundreds of thousands of GM users out there who (no offense, because I'm in your boat... and it's a nice boat) are probably better at game development. As mammy stated, most people who sign onto teams who are "commercial" expect some form of "inspiration". Your best bet is to stay independent for now, and build up a reputation for yourself as a competent programmer, and see if you can't find some people willing to take a chance with you. You'll get a team together and maybe come up with the next big thing, THEN you take it to Yoyogames if you're still using GM.

Again, I'm not trying to rain on your parade. Best of luck in all your endeavors tho! :)

What's legality have to do with it? :x Of course them publishing games is going to be legal. That has nothing to do with being prosperous or if it's even a good idea to have them publish anything.

It'll turn out like BigFish, except worse.
