Internet connection problems

I've having internet connection problems lately. I don't really know why..

If I connect wireless to my router (I'm using Windows XP's wireless connection software, it says "connecting". But I have access to the internet without that thing saying "connected". But the problem is, when the connecting status times out, it releases the internet and automatically disconnects and turns back to normal ("automatic" is wrote on it).

I thought of a software that connects to the router without timeout, so that I have continuous internet. But I don't know if they exists or whatever.

Does anybody recognise this problem? Or has ideas to help me?
