You tend to wonder if Adobe didn't price users out of the market so much, whether their sales (and revenue) would therefore be higher...

It's not like they need to protect their revenue, I mean, their brand name is plenty strong enough.

Meh, I had a legal Photoshop 7, only because my dad is an art director and his company bought a site license which he let me use. Then I got Leopard and PS7 isn't compatible anymore. D: Right now I have a trial of Photoshop CS (already ran through trials of CS2 and CS3). My dad (who works for a different place now, where they can afford CS3) is going to bring me a CS3 license next weekend. :P

That doesn't make you a legal user, though, Moldorma =P

It just means you're on a site license, though you're not authorized to be on it =P

I own CS3 legally. It was expensive, but I like it better than GIMP, and I'm not one for software pirating

I guess, Cassy. Technically though, since my dad is the art director (i.e. boss of the whole art department), its his call who uses the software.

Annnnnyways. Speaking of pirating, I actually do have Flash 8. Adobe doesn't need anymore money. ;P

I wouldn't pay more than say.. $20 for photoshop, adobe is basically stupid as hell.

plus there's that program.. whats it called.. aivary or something, does everything photoshop does and more, so now photoshop is trying to team up with photobucket for some annoying shitty thing.. I can't remember, who cares.

Paint.NET does just about everything I need anyway (I do have a possibly not obtained through entirely legal procedures that may or may not have been enacted by a person who may or may not have been me Photoshop).

I TRIED to download photoshop...and then I found GIMP. Never looked back.

Easy peasy... just go into common files and delete the one file there. You don't need to modify any files to get CS3 free.

Why should we use GIMP when we can get Photoshop? Seriously, Photshop is just more powerful and professional, also easier to use (really), and plus, has an user-friendly interface, not like GIMP.

For me (but we all haven't the same opinions), GIMP is just for people who are against pirated-softwares, the others shouldn't deprive themselves to use Photoshop, but once again, it's just what I think.
