New Laptop

Just wanted a new laptop so I got one. It's a Toshiba Satellite P205 but it's got more stuff, like an extra gigabyte of ram (2 to 3) and other stuff. It runs smoother than my PC but it's a fresh install. It was FULL of Toshiba preinstalled !@#$%, and it took an hour to remove it all, but now it's all gone. It's a 17" screen so it's big and sort of heavy. But all I really wanted it for was chatting to people online when I can't get to a PC.

Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile technology TL-58 1.90ghz
RAM: 2942mb
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
HDD: 160gb

It looks very pretty, all lights up and yea. Might get pictures later.

Only complaint: Screen is SO BRIGHT X_X

Same, 100% the same. I was thinking about Toshiba's I was looking at them at walmart.com. I know they're hardy and good.

If you want a review try googling. I'll say...

Fast, quiet, runs anything you throw at it except newer games (Crysis etc). Expect a lot of preinstalled crap (as with any preinstalled OS machine).

Is that a bra magazine down there in the trash bin AoDC?

Also, what version of Vista are you running? -- I'd really opt for a switch back to XP.. ;p

Yeah. XP is better than Vista. But you better hurry. I don't know about elsewhere, but I heard that XP is being removed from the shelves this summer in the States. :(

Balmer came out and said yesterday "There seems to be high demand for Windows XP still, Microsoft may consider extending its shelf life" after they realized "Oh !@#$%, if we pull XP people might actually switch to Linux, they're so pissed they made a petition that was so big it was on CNN"

Your laptop has the numberpad >_> must be pretty big since most laptops don't have it.

Notice the arrow keys are near-er to the letters and that the buttons above normal arrow keys are now above the numpad. It must be a little bigger, but not much.

I wish my laptop had a numpad. I had all my controls for my games mapped there. Now I'm using D,X,S,E,W,R,Space,Right Shift, Enter, and in some cases 2,3,4, and 5.

Argh, why do they make laptops so big these days? The whole point is that they're meant to be portable, not super powerful.

Well, at least they're significantally smaller and more powerful than ENIAC, the first computer. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look it up.

They still have 15" screen laptops. I personally wanted one with power in it to run things when I get bored in college =X.

I don't get much choice, I either had to get a desktop or laptop when my other computer failed. So I got a laptop, for portability because I harldly have time to use my computer at home, even though I want to be able to do tasks suited to desktops.
