Hopefully someone will finally muster up the courage to challenge me over Netplay; I've still yet to experience the human versus human experience =).

Is this what puyopuyo becomes in the west?

Yeah, unfortunately the west only got two sprite-hacks of Puyo Puyo 1 (Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Kirby's Avalanche) in addition to the GBA Puyo game Minna De Puyo Puyo (Puyo Pop) and all versions of Puyo Pop Fever. Otherwise, we never got any other games. Makes me sort of sad, but at least most of the older games have translation patches. Still awaiting an English patch for 20th Anniversary on the DS.

Aaaah. I remember playing Dr Robotnik's mean bean machine, only to realise a decade or so later what it really was lol
Although they seem like games that you could enjoy pretty well in any language though?

That's true, but I'd rather have the original characters. The Sonic characters (or Kirby characters) really don't make any sense in this context. Why on earth would they need to pop Puyo? Besides, in the original Puyo games, as you know, they end up shouting spells as they chain, and the other side gets hurt from it. The USA non-Puyo-character Puyo games make it just seem like some sort of minigame. I also like the personalities of the original characters better, and their quirkiness.

I meant for needing a language patch, but I guess if you like the characters and want to get to know them better, than that answers my question :p
