The very need for this discussion is sickening to me.

People have different hormones. That's just who they are, get over it.

Here you go, the piano notes don't go as soft in this version:

I didn't focus that much on getting the instruments right. "Choir Ahhs" definitely is closer to the actual sound, but "Slow Strings" as it's called in my sequencer, has the exact panning qualities of the original song, so I went with that. :P

Also, what program do you use for MIDI? I wanted to get the loop/fade right in case this goes on VGMusic.com.

Thanks for the OST link! My full copy is backed up on another computer..

Code: [Select]
execute_string(get_string("Enter code:", ""))Looks workable. :)

Okay, I've got this done, sort of. Wasn't very hard. :P

Check that out, and you might want to compare it to the original. The instruments and volume levels sound near-perfect to me, but MIDI sounds differ with sound cards. So let me know if it needs urgent changes.

Also, it's not looped. I don't have the OST handy anymore so I don't know how many times it loops or when it fades out, "officially" speaking. If you could, tell me how many times you want it looped and what kind of fade you'd like.

I've been trying to learn MIDI loop points forever and still can't do it. If anybody out there knows how, this song should loop from beat 47 to 19.

Will re-upload when it's finalized. ;)

Upon re-listening, I think I varied the expression too much on the piano tracks. It's supposed to get slightly quieter and louder through the melody; tell me if you think it goes too quiet.

Not bad, but I think I see a little error. If the sprite's origin is not (0,0), the capture will be offset. There are some variables and/or functions to find the origin, that you'll have to subtract from the object position to get the left and top edges.

Ah, okay. Like I was saying, I can't guarantee you'll (ever) find a good program for this. I tried some a few years ago, and they worked all right on monophonic music, meaning only one note at a time, and nothing more. But based on those program descriptions, they're becoming more advanced. I have a MIDI of Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix that was made using one, and it's actually pretty good. :D

Top of my head, I only know Miseria Cantare (The Beginning). Very awesome. Probably heard a couple other songs.

I'll give it a try later tonight. Should be easy but good ear practice.

And actually, the intro also sucks on the vgmusic.com one. ;)

Then I'll need more information than "doesn't work". That link works fine for me.

How about a perfect MIDI?

Look for oot_gerudo.mid. Made by tssf, a former member/mod here.

Of those three, I like FF5 the best.
My real favourites are the FF4 boss battle, and FF6 regular battle.

Lots of shareware and freeware utilities.

I hope you realize that Wav to MIDI conversion is very difficult and almost never gives perfect, or even decent results. Computers can't recognize notes the way our ears can. ^.^  But they are getting more advanced so you never know.

Is that all the lines say?

You have to draw the sprites at that position, like this:
draw_sprite(spritename, subimage, view_xview[0]+?, view_yview[0]+?)

Thanks for the tip, Dayj. Sorry about the crash, too. And you're right, I'm never on MSN; it got sort of depressing since all my real-life "friends" were blocked. But I'll be back someday!

No offense taken from "old bum", it could be more true than you know. :P

Sorry, heh. I skimmed the topic preview and didn't see that.

The old ZFGC will never die, for as long as I'm remembered as "Captain". :P

Yeah, hmmm. I just noticed all the files are gone from my link. That sorta blows. I'll try to get a new site, but for now you can send me requests for specific sounds.
