Uhm…  Maybe the poor audio has something to do with the fact that the video is taken from a camera.

No, you're missing the point. The actual game audio sounds like a MIDI, which is hard to do even with a shitty camera because the regular sound is retro.

It might be partly that, cameras tend to pick up and amplify noise. But the music in those videos is definitely sped up, the drum beats are changed a bit, and the humming of an indiscernible instrument in the first cave is replaced with MIDI quality piano.

THAT'S A BIG DEAL TO ME.
