Speaking of Cave Story...

I've beaten Cave Story three times, the normal playthrough. Just a week ago I played it again for my fourth time. In that time I've managed to get up to the Sacred Grounds. I'm finally doin' the hard route through it. Finally, a challenge. Can't wait for Cave Story Wii.

Also, recently I downloaded another one of his games that uses a modified Cave Story beta engine. It's called Ikachan, you control a squid. It's an amazing game, but much shorter than Cave Story. :D

I tried Cave Story and I didn't like it too much.  Never beat it.

Well I've played it once but technically beat it twice :P (On PSP).

When I got to the part where [spoiler=Spoiler?]He asks you to leave the island with him I backtracked and everything and couldn't find if there were actually more so I went with him and I was disappointed at how short it was. Then I thought there has to be more so I went and loaded the last save after the credits rolled and sure enough, there was much more[/spoiler].

So I was playing this today with the english patch, but had to mute the volume because there's this really wierd, really loud buzzing sound that will play with/against the music. Has anyone else experienced this? PLEASE tell me it's not just me. :(

EDIT - HELL YEAH! FIXED! Sounds awesome! :D

I'm pretty sure there are 3 paths; the cop-out, defeating the Doctor, and defeating Ballos in the hidden level near the end.

It's been a while since I played, can't remember if there's supposed to be a 3rd ending, but I've done the other 2 once each.

Yeah. The first time I played I defeated the Doctor. Second time I played I copped-out to see what would happen. Third time I played I tried to defeat Ballos, but I did something wrong so I was only able to defeat the Doctor once again.

But just recently I began playing for my fourth time, I beat the hard route in about a week. Now I'm in the Sacred Grounds and utterly screwed.

Nobody gave away the endings, just how to get them, which is impossible to miss when you play it.

The other CS thread and the press release spoiled much more by saying the main character's identity.

Sacred Grounds now. I've been here for a few days now. I finally made it all the way through. I'm about to enter the seal chamber where Ballos is sure to be waiting, never gone through the hard route. Tips on the last fight? :P

I'm assuming this isn't too much of a grave dig.....

So, I just beat this game today. I did the stupid fleeing ending first, but then continued form my save and did the doctor ending.
This game is absolutely amazing. This is probably one of the best games I've played in years. It's amazing that it's completely indie developed.

I think I'm going to play again and get the third ending.

Not only was it indie developed, it was all made by one guy. Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya. He even made his own music program called OrgMaker just for this game.

I only played a demo of Cavestory on the DS. I liked it but I never thought of downloading it for the PC. Now I will just wait for the Wiiware version.
