Hi! So I finally decided on what game to make, and I chose Link's Awakening in LttP style. For the most part, it will be an exact replica, but a few new things will be added:

-The color dungeon fairy will ask if you want your green tunic back if you're wearing a blue or red one.

-The camera mouse's pictures will be remodeled for LttP Link, and colored.

-Upon 100% completing the game, a special dungeon will be unlocked.

-Some of the original game script will be re-worded to make it more "modern".

If you have any other ideas or things you'd like to see, please suggest them here! :D

For 100%, do you mean everything before the last boss or can you save after beating the final boss?

After you trade the Shovel for the Boomerang, will you make it possible to trade it back? I don't remember if you could do that in the original.

Well seeing as you need 100% to get the bonus dungeon, yes, you'll be able to save. It'll be like the Minish Cap where you have a mark on your file but you can still fight the Nightmare.

As for the item trading thing, I believe he said something along the lines of "Give me back my boomerang! I'll give you your item back if you do!"

@DJ: Thanks! I have the overworld completed, courtesy of JonLeung from VGMaps.com ^_^

Yep! ^_^ Credit JonLeung if used, and he also requested that vgmaps.com be credited too.

That overworld is so TINY! Looks like a tile-replacement job more then a re-tile. My offer's still good if/when you want! :)

It's the same size as this one:

And I'll accept your offer--I'll still need to tile the inside places and dungeons remember! ;)

Yeah, but think about how small LA Link was; And how much smaller GB screen was then SNES screen. That entire map is about 1/2 the size of LTTP's over-world :X

I see what you mean now :/ But still, they are the same size on emulators. Smaller screen shouldn't matter.

But when they scale up on an emulator it also scales up link. I'm just saying quality-wise you don't want to use a simple re-tile for a game that used graphics that were half the size. LTTP Link is like 8-9 pixels taller then the doors. He's taller then all the trees and such. Just gives a very unappealing look.

Rewording the script could potentially lose you a lot of interest.  I'd say stick with the original or at the very least, have the option to switch to the original script.

Also, don't attempt any of the larger parts of development until you get some good teammates.  The later you get them, the harder for them it is to get comfortable with all the material in the project.

Edit: Also, you need to be able to commit to one project.  I'm pretty sure you're around a few and actually getting anywhere in game development requires focusing on one project until it's done and then the next.

I'm using Multimedia Fusion 2...foreshadower attempted this before. He might be willing to start it up again. It'd be great to release it as a 10th anniversary or something.

Thanks for the comment about the script, Pyrazor! I understand I may lose some interest, but if there's criticism from people because of the new script then they can go play the older gb game! I'll think about it though.

What does this mean?! You touch that and script I will cut you with a spoon. :P I told you, Link's Awakening is my favorite Zelda game EVER. What ever you do when re-wording, please keep it as close to the original as possible.

By rewording, I mean that I'll possibly replace references to things in the 90s to things in the 2000 era. But if there is a major outbreak of public opinion against it, then  I'll retain the original script.

Not exactly. I'll be reading over the game script in the next few days and writing down possible revamps. I'll post them here if you like. However, I am very positive that I'll maintain the famous Link and Marin dialogue. I see no need to ruin something so loved.
