Title: Hackerskills.com
Post by: cb43569 on January 06, 2007, 03:09:10 pm
It's pretty cool :D. It's a hacker simulation game, except that unlike things like Uplink, you don't have awesome password cracking tools - you have to really crack it yourself.
www.hackerskills.com (http://www.hackerskills.com).

I'm just about to go onto Level 5. I'm on Level Ten now.

If you get stuck for some reason, well, here's my walkthrough (don't use unless you need it:

Quote from: Walkthrough
Level One: Password is null
Level Two: Password is l3l
Level Three: Password is #000000
Level Four: Can't remember... sorry
Level Five: Password is SAvE-as hELpS a lOt (but, to tell the truth, I didn't use Save-as)
Level Six: Password is hackerskills123
Level Seven: Username is phat. Password is jerkybar3
Level Eight: Username is zadmin. I can't remember the password.
Level Nine: Check the source code from a strange piece of text saying it's the password. Decode it, and go to http://www.hackerskills.com/(decodedpassword).php

It's incomplete, but as I complete more of this "simulation", I'll post the passwords :). Happy hecking!

It doesn't require ANY "hecking" skills whatsoever. Only HTML / Javascript / PHP knowledge really.

I got up to Level 12... but what the hell is the point in posting the answers cb43569, just means no-one else actually gets to try.

I'm ruining your fun? How about everyone else who came in here wanting a challenge, and then saw your post? You just ruin everyone else's! >_>

The problem with these.. are that they are all so "generic".. Each one has like, tasks copied from the others. And not to mention that they are in almost no way identical to a real scenario...

Is this like HackThisSite? "Look in the source code, find the form..." etc, etc.?

Yeah, Sir Cyrus, it is. But slightly harder than looking in the sourcecode as soon as you hit Level 7. I'm on Level 10 now, but I'm not exactly gonna tell everyone how to do Level 9.

Yeah, pretty much the same. Although HackThisSite has some nicer scenarios and tasks. This is just level after level of reading the source and putting in the password.. lol.

I'm on Level 7 with some help from Dayjo on level 3.

[Edit]

LMAO! At the sourcecode of www.hackerskills.com/pwd2.php (http://www.hackerskills.com/pwd2.php)

[Edit2]

Lol level 7 was easy.... :P

[Edit3]

Whoa lvl 8 is so clever! :P  But I got it...

[Edit4]

Never mind I did it now it broke the first time...

If you're so great, why don't you do Level 10 for me? Anyway, Level 8 is really hard :P!

Seen it, done it - and its garbage. It has nothing what so ever to do with real hecking / cracking, just a bunch of crappy widely known, HTML/PHP/JavaScript exploits.

I'm stuck on level 12... which sucks because level 11 was so deceptively easy XD.

[edit] Scratch that, I'm on level 16... or 17... I'm not sure...

Oooh yeah... that one I sort of cheated on... good thing too since it's !@#$% up. I'll have to downright tell you how to do it though since you won't be able to actually figure it out:
If you feel like scouring google for the answer instead of looking here (which you'll have to do) then don't read the following:
Copy/paste: Some of the letters in top paragraph are italicized. The obvious thing to do would be to use those as the password. That's close, but there's an "s" that wasn't italicized. Basically, the password is shackithalf

Seriously, there is an error with the page, you have to look for the answer.

If I'm not mistaken, level 12 is also screwed up... For that one you'll have to go to http://www.heck-test/filename of level 12. It works there.

When you said "cracking software", I remembered that I know how to exploit a glitch in SnagIt versions 5 to 8 (including 8!) to use it beyond it's trial period.
