I played Animal Crossing on the Gamecube and DS for months. But this new Animal Crossing game for the Wii just looks a bit to similar to previous games. Both graphically and gameplay, which is a shame because there's much improvements that can be done. For one the graphics could use allot improvement.
Holy !@#$%, Hyrule_boy just evolved into
Hyrule_MAN.
People have been saying the graphics look exactly the same as the GCN game.
Well, I can already tell the textures are a lot higher res and there are a lot less sprites being used (if any)
the GCN game was basically the N64 game ported, every tree was just a few sprites put together, now they're all in 3D etc.
There isn't a whole lot they can do to change the look of the traditional town without changing the games style, so that's why we're getting that city part too.
Back on gamecube and DS, the graphics needed to be better, and if you ask me, the graphics for City Folk don't need to be better.
Fair enough, but really if AC on GC was just an improved port from the N64 version, (graphically), it could be said that AC on Wii is just an improved port from the GC version. That doesn't really matter to me, I'm more bothered by the lack of other improvements.
A lot more could have been done with than what was, (or at least what we've seen of it). Granted, voice chat and online capabilities are a definite step in the right direction, but that's basically it as far as I can tell. From what I've read of various hands-on previews of the game the "City" aspect of the game isn't even really worth mentioning, much less calling a city. Nonetheless, AC is awesome and the absolute high-point, (in terms of software), from Nintendo this E3.
