I entered this into my school exhibition.

FAQ:

Who is Dean Richards?

He is a fictional character. I have never lost a friend or anything, and I'm sure there are people out there who can relate to the emotion in this artwork more than I can.

What's that thing in the middle?

I used a little bit too much lead and the flash on the camera is reflecting the light :P. It's actually a projector, projecting onto the black board.

So why is the power cord a snake and a worm?

SYMBOLISM.

You're not depressed are you? Are you sure you don't need help?

I don't usually draw like this. I prefer drawing scenery. Happy things :P. In this artwork... one thing led to another. And this is what I finished with.

What does that say?

If you need to ask what something says, ask.

So what should I look for when viewing this artwork?

Don't focus on the physical representations but rather the emotion you feel when you view it.

To be honest, I was expecting these sorts of comments, and I actually hesitated showing you guys. I guess... it's a pretty intimidating artwork, if you don't want to try comprehending it, that's fine with me :).

I'm also not entirely sure what's going on in the picture, but it's pretty well done! It's definitely very interesting looking.
