Can Stress Cause Vomiting and Diarrhea?

Yup

Actually when you think about it, humans are little more than oversized hamsters when it comes to stress... We'll empty our guts out quicker than you can say poopdick under stress...

My coworker Angie... got into a fight with her husband... it actually escalated to a physical altercation (first time it happened after 12 years); she was !@#$% and puking for 2 days straight...

Diarrhea is caused by a rota-virus, stress really doesn't have that much of an ability to do anything unless your system is really impaired; viruses tend to linger and !@#$%.  Vomiting is easily caused by stress and serves the important function of purging food intake so the body doesn't have to deal with it.  Stress really does not cause anything, it is more or less the weakness that comes from stress.  You might !@#$% more because you ass muscles don't clamp as much because your body is weak.

I think diarrhea can be caused by more than just rota-virus.. I mean not everything you eat at McDonalds contains rota-virus, does it? -- Also eating too much fiber can cause your stool to be loose. My dad (the person who's not feeling well) is under much stress at the moment between himself and other illnesses in the family. Along with a condition called diverticulitis. Also lack of sleep. Just wondering.. he seems to be in a good mood and laughing.. which normally wouldn't happen with the stomach flu.

My mom and I also feel fine, stomach wise.. My dad also said he's hungry, which wouldn't really be an attribute of the stomach flu.

Stress increases the production of stomach acid, 4Sword... I've been to the doctors for this many a time lol (Social anxiety + irritable bowel = bad combo)

Diarrhea is a constant feeling like you have to poop and then trying to go and being unable to, all the while pooping out some blood because the body is weird.  I had diarrhea on my eighth birthday, worst day of my life, well one of the worst days of my life.  Looking through Wikipedia, what I am describing is more severe diarrhea, so I guess that the less severe kind is just a generalization for loose stool.  Eating fiber makes poop softer and easier to process.  I know everything about pooping.  I guess stomach acid could cause something similar, but at least with me it is too much bile production (which also happens to be what makes poop brown in color, otherwise it would be a white-ish color).

I think you have diarrhea and constipation confused.

With that said I think all three can be caused by extreme stress.
