So... what do you think about Windows Vista?  I have some pics at http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v514/Ocarinaoftimefan/Vista/ (password=blah) and you can just do a Google Image search.  After spending some time with Vista, I'm glad they delayed it; they need something more.  I just hope what they say about DX10 is true.  Urge doesn't work, but WMP 10 is pretty.  It's nice that they included Media Center (do they do that with XP now?).   I definitely wouldn't spend money for it the way it is now.  I know it's a beta, but I don't see this going anywhere...

I think it'll be pointless.  XP is perfectly fine, and vista is just going to use up more computer power to run.  I'll only get it when they stop updating XP, which won't be for a LONG time ;)

Also Its going to have all sorts of anti-piracy things built in, and I like piracy XD

Well I've read that Microsoft has already announced it will stop updating XP by this year's end.  I'll look for the source.
Edit: I found the source with a quote from Microsoft. http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060103-5891.html  But now they say Microsoft changed its mind.  I did read it back then, though; although I got the dates wrong, I wasn't just making stuff up.

That doesnt sound so likely, they just stopped updating 98 about a month ago.

And just because theres a news article, doesnt mean its right ;)

Yeah that was kind of the point of my first post.  I don't understand how Microsoft's going to attract people to Vista.  I haven't seen what they're able to do with DX10 since they won't be supporting legacy video cards, though.  Maybe they're hoping Halo 2 will be enough to start them off.  Limey: did you even read the article?  I already mentioned that thing they said at the end.  They say Microsoft changed their minds.  Should I edit my post just because what I thought (and read) was true is false?

I agree!  Go out and buy a new copy of Windows XP Professional (not OEM); you'll immediately realize why Bill Gates is so freaking rich.

You can't be mad at Bill though. He worked for everything he has. (Atleast at the begining)

I'll just get Xp 64 bit, no reason to get Vista, it's not like companies will just stop producing software for XP since most computers are running either XP or 98.

I have a reason to get Vista, I am completely unable to install service pack 2 onto my XP without it destroying XP.
It's screwed :(.

Bill Gates didn't do a whole lot of work almost all microsofts products have been bought off someone else. I'm pretty sure even MS Paint was bought off someone else. Just checked on Wikipedia and they even bought DOS off some otehr company beofre changing it to "MS-DOS"

But before ms-dos, he programmed the programs himself, but this isn`t a debate about Gates, is it? Anyways, i think Vista looks very good and it propably is better than XP, so yeah, i could use it (propably) XD
