Other Discussion / Requesting advice, overheating computer

I have an issue, my mothers pc (an XP 3200) has been recently crashing, we narrowed the problem down to it overheat, running at 86 degrees celcius when idle to be exact. It started doing this about a week or two ago, we havent moved it at all, we opened it up, cleaned all the fans, and made sure the air flow was correct etc. There is room for the fans, nothing seems to be wrong. We have narrowed it down to it needs more heat compound, but the issue is that, we have none. So, we need advice to keep it as cool a physically possible, we have hoovered it out to remove dust... What else can we do?

Feedback / 403 Forbidden on the site?

I keep getting a 403 forbidden error on the site, this error dissapears after about 2 minutes, but after i get it i just cant load teh site (same error). Anybody else getting it recently, and anyone an idea what it means?

Well, im sure those of you who paid for a real copy can be really pissed off now (including myself). Some guy went onto the purebasic forums after buying a copy of purebaic, and posted the download to the full version in every single board, from his own server (http://www.purebasic.fr/english/). I cant believe he did it, hes gonna get so screwed over for it. But hey, im sure those of you who get to the link fast enough will love it.

Debates / Smoking in Public - Right or Wrong?

Well, ive personally noticed people smoking in public. Those of you that do not smoke know very much how bad it smell,s how intruding it is, and how you have made your choice to live long and not wreck your body, yet someone else is ruining it. What are your opinions on it, and do you or do you not smoke?

Personally, i do not, and never will.

Other Projects / Duck Hunt - A Fendez Remake (New Screenshot)

Well guys, i have been working on my secret project, Fendez Duck Hunt, designed for the retro remakes competition as Fendez's entry, programmed and by me, designed by Franz, audio by Wartagon, sprites by Kren and other images by Tim(SilverNova.co.uk).

Gameplay:
Heres the deal this is a remake of the origional nes game, with a few added perks. You are a hunter, looking for ducks with your trusty unamed dog who runs into the area, sniffs out the ducks, hides behind the bush and scares them all out, you then have a random time limit to shoot them before they all fly away, the number of ducks will increase per round, and as it does, you will gain more improved weapons to kill them with, but watch out, dont hit the other animals or we will give you a penalty depending on what you shot.

We are not planning on releasing a demo for this game, but the deadline is August 31st 2006, this will therefore be the release date, so enjoy the screens ZFGC, i plan to add more when the game comes out of its alpha stage and into beta.

Graphics / Old link sprites , narus love, dins fire, slingshot, deku stick, animations!

Well guys, i noticed in a topic below someone wanted dins fire animations etc, and i remember making them for an OOT2D some time ago, so heres a list of what i have, note that all of them are animated gifs, and there are multiple images per gif for some because i made these in gamemaker:

Narus Love - Starting image, and the animation for whilst its on, add transparency effects for this to work well.
Dins fire - Yes dins fire, starting, moving etc, all of the effects, just look, and use.
Slingshot - The bullet, fireing in all directions, etc

I know it isnt that good, but they can look good given the right setting etc.

A software engineer, hardware engineer, and departmental manager were on their way to a meeting in Switzerland. They were driving down a steep mountain road when suddenly the brakes failed. The car careened out of control, bouncing off guardrails until it miraculously ground to a scraping halt along the mountainside. The occupants of the car were unhurt, but they had a problem. They were stuck halfway down the mountain in a car with no brakes.

"I know," said the manager. "Let's have a meeting, propose a Vision, formulate a Mission Statement, define some Goals, and through a process of continuous improvement, find a solution to the Critical Problems and we'll be on our way."

"No," said the hardware engineer. "I've got my Swiss army knife with me. I can strip down the car's braking system, isolate the fault, fix it, and we'll be on our way."

"Wait," said the software engineer. "Before we do anything, shouldn't we push the car back to the top of the mountain and see if it happens again?"

The devil leads him to the first room where someone is tied to a wall and is being whipped. The second room has someone being burned by a torch. The third has a man getting blown by a naked woman.

Entertainment / AHHHHH - Water Temple OOT

I have been playing OOT for what is the 10th time, but i am in the water temple, i have a big issue, i need to be able to get to the longshot, i have online maps ect, no keys and no diea what ive done wrong. Here is where i am:

Looking at that map the only chests for me that are left are:
The one to the right of '18'
The one under 'A'
The two to the left of the master key

The issue is i need one key to proceed at all, i cant find a way into any of the chambers shown on the map without the longshot.... I think i used a key in a door i wasnt supposed to yet, and now i cant go anywhere, can ANYONE help me at all?

My sister has just started the Urbz: Sims in the City for her DS. She asked me recenlty how to buy things from the catalog, and i have been through it all, and still cant work it out, i can select the item i want, but we cannot buy it, we have over double the needed money, so thats not an issue, what buttons do we need to press to buy it? If i search for "catalog" with the Urbz or anything alike in google i get results for buying the game, so does anyone have an idea for me? It would make my life alot easier, thanks.
