Your screens look pretty good. That looks like a mix of FSA, LttP and MC.

Not to be rude, but the content in your screens look kind of boxy.  :-\ Also, I'm not really thrilled about those Gossip Stones. They look a little too big. :-\ But besides that, it doesn't look all that bad. :)

It is an interesting project, it also looks rather nice, however I have noticed that you are using alot of my sprites, yet fail to credit me. I dont want to seem rude but alot of time and effort went into creating them and I would like a mention in your credits.

I have sent you a pm and im only posting here because your not repling.

On a positive note though it looks good, what are you programming it in?

Yes, I remember Dampe, the guy who faked his death, cause hes an attention !@#$%, but enough about that.

Are these tiles used from Dampe's game? Cause I think that Gossip Stone is mine o_O I made it for him some time ago when we were buddies and when I was new to spriting XD Correct me if I'm wrong though, as I don't fully remember what it looked like >_>

Sorry, but I just can't get excited about an oot2d project anymore. This looks the same as every other oot2d attempt (maybe a little worse).
The graphics are a bit weird in places, like the gossip stones(too big and boxy), the webs in the Deku tree, also the walls of the deku tree have no depth (it looks to flat, it looks like it could be carpet). The colours of the grass and cliffs look a bit bright and washed-out when compared to everything else.

I've seen a lot of OOT2D's in progress but never one finished. Hopefully I'll see one finish. Yours looks good so far. :D  Most people say they have to be perfect and everything, but for me as long as nothing looks completely bad I'm good with it.

I quite agree. I hope that TRM actually makes his OOT2D

Looks nice ^_^ Although it'd prolly be best to seek out TRM to get the proper credits for a lot of the art you're using :s I'm sure theres a bit of my stuff in there, along with quite a few other users here who arent actively credited :P

How about you make the game in english?... All you have to do is use the original english text of OOT.

Guess I'll ask the typical here:

How far along is the engine/game?

Any plans on doing a demo, if so any dates?

Screens look good thus far. I think I'll have to jump on the general bandwagon against the gossip stones. They do seem a bit big. I'd enjoy seeing a demo sometime soon, even if its just a walking demo of the village, its good to please people and get input on the game engine part, just as much as the graphical end.

I think Phantom Hourglass is a good way to consider re-creating OoT in a '2d' setting. The game itself isn't 2d, but it's very similar to 2d games. The only difference is the way the battles are at the end, those are more of a 3d setting, which gives you the ability to better adapt to your environment to fight off the bad guy. It might be a good consideration to future developers. I think taking a 2d game and putting it in a 3d environment is a challenge I've yet to see it done successfully (not touting your abilities or anyone elses) its just hard to capture that, almost required, 3d feel.

Keep up the work, I look forward to some type of demo in the coming weeks.
