Does anyone have any trailers related to their projects? We're setting up a livestream channel and it'd be great to populate it with things like that.

I'm not entering this year-- Not because last year was a joke (and I sincerely hope they worked out those issues),
If I remember right, your issues were with the rating system and how the best of were chosen. Those are going to be handled differently and it'll be made clear how the "best of" will be chosen this year. I don't think we've completely decided how it'll be done yet (we have ideas of course), so we're still open to suggestions.
I'd really want to enter this year- finished games, right?
.. Have a pretty good GB-esque platformer that is coming along niiicely, just
don't know how to enter. Or it's just nintendo games- Metroid, Zelda etc?
:S
Games don't have to be finished, though the more you have the more people are going to enjoy what you have to show. We accept fangames based on Nintendo franchises, as well as fangames based on franchises that have appeared on a Nintendo platform. We may do something for indie projects, but it won't really be part of the main event since this is about fangames.
Hm...this is a simple question, but: What are the Rules?
Can I read the rules somewhere?
And can someone enter two times and enter only with a Technical Demo?
Specific rules will be put up around the time we start to accept booth submissions, but if you have any specific questions I can try to answer them.
A technical demo would be completely fine to enter. I believe you can submit as many booths as you have projects, but I'll look into that.

Any other questions or feedback I'd ask you to post them on the NCFC forums, as anyone else with similar questions from other communities will be able to see them and the answers to them (plus you'll get a much quicker response). I'll try to check around here every so often though!

well, the past is the past, doesn't mean much to me.

I think Mecha was definitely being unfair, there seemed to be a lot of people accusing booths of being rigged for votes because they had a lot of voters and while it's possible I doubt that was the case with any of the booths. The rating system wasn't considered much at all by the staff in regards to anything, and it's our fault for not informing people that it didn't matter.

Best of Show has been decided by the staff since the beginning, and if you're new to the even then I apologize for not informing you, but I didn't even know how it was decided until the end of last year's event! But yeah, basically the staff decide, and that's really all there is to it. I'd like to change it, I think there's a lot more fun ways to decide it and ways that involve the community more, but I can't make any guarantees right now.

If you don't want to show up next year, that's fine, I can understand. There's going to be some internal changes within the staff for next year though, so the event will probably run a bit differently so you might not want to give up just yet.

Also I take feedback very seriously, I want to make the event as good as it can possibly be, so I appreciate hearing the concerns you have. If you have any other issues, feel free to post them here or on the NCFC forums.

fourth platform is iphone, according to which used to be located at http://www2.sega.com/sonic4/assets/promo1.png according to Sonic Retro. Could be wrong but who knows?

Not incredibly interested in this, considering I was never a big fan of the classic Sonic games. It's interesting how every ounce of information released on this title has caused Sonic fans to freak out and make loads of assumptions (such as a redesign of Sonic to be more like his old classic self), that will only lead to dissapointment.

I haven't looked too much into it, but I'll probably get it when it comes out as I haven't gotten a PSP game that I've really enjoyed yet and this might be the one.

The PS2 Kingdom Hearts games and the PSX and PS2 Final Fantasy games would work well.

I liked the first one a lot better. This one was a bit too jumpy for me.

Not to say I hated it though, I liked a lot of things it did, the opening action scene was pretty rad.

and the sound effects, oh man the sound effects are amazing

Like 200+ in Pearl, but that's partially because the game itself is so slow.

not a big fan of country. If you like it that's cool- I can see why some people would like it, so yeah.

less forums overall- goddamn look at this mess

and maybe a spam forum that works the way mfgg's ccc does- promotes activity and rule obeying while giving the members a little fun (no bans for 2 months and 200+ posts gives you access, getting banned means 2 months with no access, etc.)
I agree on the boards. We have 62 a the moment :S. Kinda excessive.

However not sure about spam, we've tried it many different times in different ways, always splits the community. :S. Happy to have some off topic boards with lax rules though.
well I don't exactly mean spam. I mean stupid meme spurting and afsafsafsafdfasdf posts over and over aren't cool. but a much more laid back forum would be nice- I mean overall and a specific forum with relaxed rules.

I am glad that you guys are thinking about shortening the forum list though, ZFGC has always had way too many forums to distribute its activity properly.

They order as few copies of new games they can get away with, as their profit comes from ripping people off for trade-ins. I remember when Final Fantasy VI Advance came out, I was like "rad, I'm gonna buy one for me, one for a friend, and this buddy of mine is coming up to get a copy!" so we headed down to GameStop and I was able to get one copy. They only ordered 3 copies total, and two were preorders. Should a game store only have one copy of a new game (and especially one from as big of a game franchise as Final Fantasy) for people casually coming to the store to pick it up? This can't be good for the industry, nor the people who don't put the effort in to preorder crap (which is most people).
