Just a little question about english.

I saw many people at sites and forums saying:

"I think your art is good"
and
"I find your art is good"

What's the right way of saying this?

Hmm...It has been a while since I have been in English class.

I think it could be a few ways, although each is different by dialects, casualness, regions, etc.
"In my opinion, your art is good."
"I find your art to be good."
"You have good artistic abilities."
"You are good with artwork."
"Your artwork is excellent!"

Just some various ways to say what you saw.

I think your art is good ... is fine..

if you were to use the word 'find' you would say something more like "I find your art interesting..."

"I find your art is good" isn't really incorrect, it just sounds odd compared to "I think your art is good"

You don't say "I find your art is good.", you say "I find your art good.". The word find here has the same meaning of consider... though consider is more formal than find. EDIT: And find is also slightly more formal than think.

I think it's that... -.-"

"I find your art good." and "I think your art is good" are basically both correct.

>_< Hard question.
Basic grammar says the correct form is "an uniform", but that sounds so strange... I guess it's because you pronounce it "yuniform"...
...
-.- I don't know, I'd use "a uniform".

I think that sentence is wrong... you can't use find in that sentence.

"I think your art is good." is perfectly fine, but if you wanted to use the word 'find' you would need to say "I find your art to be good" - though that is needlessly formal. :P You could simply say "I find your art [whatever]" if you are using words that imply your engagement, such as 'interesting', or 'boring' etc.

And, yeah, it would be "I found that you helped me very much" or, less awkwardly, "I find/found you to be very helpful."

As far as the "a/an uniform" thing goes, go with the way it sounds when you say it out loud.  The whole reason "an" exists is to make it less awkward when saying things out loud.  Therefore, go by what sound the beginning letter makes.  In this case, use "a uniform" because it sounds like "a yuniform" and you don't need to use "an" with the letter y.  For the same reason, you would say "an hour" even though h is not a vowel, since it sounds like "an our"

Same thing goes when naming letters themselves.  For instance, you would say "an h" because when you say the letter h it sounds like it's beginning with an a.

Sorry, in fact you can:
"I find that you helped me very much." <= that is obligatory
or
"I think (that) you helped me very much." <= that is optional

But in this sentence:
"I find your art (to be) good." <= no that in here
or
"I think (that) your art is good." <= that is optional

That's because the object of find must always be a noun, and the object of think must always be a clause. So there must always be another verb when you use think, and that is omitable. However, in order to use a verb with find you have to turn the clause into a noun, so you have to use that or put the verb in the infinitive.

That's a bit hard to explain, but I hope you understand -.-"

Also to note, the "that"s in sjegtp's sentances aren't technically "optional", but they are more like.. assumed... when someone says it without the "that", it is kind of assumed to be in there.

English is kind of confusing.

I think your art is good. (correct)

I find your art is good. (incorrect unless you take out the "is")

I wear a uniform. (correct)
