Dunno, just thought it'd be a little fun. No real privledge or anything, just instead of normal rankings all the people who have been a member for a certain number of years and has (at some point) contributed to the forum greatly should get a nice shiny tag instead of the normal ranking .

Like a golden "Veteran" Tag.

I graduated from boot camp friday. I'm rockin out in the USO waiting to fly to Pensacola for Aircrew school. Hopefully i'll have a computer after christmas so i can chillax on the net with you guys more.

So what did i miss while i've been at boot camp.

Also... you know what's wierd... i'm not a civilian anymore... that's kinda wierding me out for some reason o.o.

Because i'm nice i'll share a secret with everyone. Is your desktop background/theme/whatever a darker theme and your AIM looks out of place? Say no more!



It's very simple to do, here is how you do it! (It also comes with a neat transition effect between colors!)

Go to this folder:

C:\Program Files\AIM6\services\imApp\ver6_1_41_2\content\bl

The bolded section MIGHT BE DIFFERENT. If you have an older or newer 6.1. However IT MUST BE 6.1 (so ver6_1_xx_x).

Find the file named "blGadgets.box", open it up in notepad. Ctrl + F for "theme/black". The first one you find will be this line:

                                            icon="box://imApp/theme/black/images/icon_selector.png" s:fill="#a0a0a0"
                                            skinPath="box://aimToolkit/theme/black/brushes_default.box"

I bolded the important part. CHANGE collapsed="true" to collapsed="false". DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE IN THAT DOCUMENT.

Save and close it.

Now to turn on the cool transition! In the same folder, open up the file "bl.js" in notepad. Search for the following "var g_bNoSkinTransitions = true;", minus the quotes. Change true to false. Save. Again DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE.

Now restart aim. Click the color pallet, and the new icon!

Can you make that so every time i click ZFGC it actually has the forum showing? >_> It's somewhat annoying to have to click "continue to the forums" every time i hit the button to go home.

I know it's a bit persnickety and all that jazz, but it really is quite bothersome.

so i bought a pair of lucky brand jeans for $98 and they get here friday/monday.

Basically i wanted a pair of tight fit jeans, but Mens tight fit is hard to come by and are often not as comfortable as womens (also womens make your butt look good).

Entertainment / National Novel Writing Month (November)

might be good for people who want to make a fangame here. The goal of the month is to write 50,000 words (the length of a short novel, [aka. novella])

I find that the major thing that makes fangames that take off SUCK is the lack of REAL STORY. It's always bland "You go do this and that, oh no a somewhat witty plot twist that you can see coming from a mile away"

Get some real writing under your belt and take that main plot you have from your fangame and give it some substance. Then you'll have a manuscript to work from when you finally want your project to take off! (even if it isn't that great of a story, it'll ultimately make your fangame seem much more organized in terms of plot)

For me, i'm writing a short novel. I still have lots of planning to do.

The goal of Nanowrimo is to teach people to blurt out a realy fast rough draft in a really short ammount of time so that they learn it isn't what you write initially, but what you edit it into afterwards.
