Edited + Custom GB Enhanced Sprites!
Hey! I've decided to post a topic on making Wind Waker sprites-
In a gameboy style! I have already made some, and i will make more in the future.
Oh yeah, these sprites ARE for use- that's why i made them!
Just don't go taking the credit or stealing other people's work- Give credit when needed!
Hmmmm Tetra's eyes may need a little editing..
Also, All Npcs and link WON'T have black edges- it makes them stand out!

i think it was a giant leaf.

oh, yeah... i'll add "special sprites" later. E.G. using the wind waker/ deku leaf.

I'm going to be honest here Boy as by the looks of it, you're putting effort into it. All the spriters aren't TRUE gb coloured. GB coloured uses a palette and only has a maximum of 3 colours (4 on large sprites) per sprite including black.
I hope this helps you. I shall see if I can find the palette for you. Good luck with this as due to GB being a simple style, this project is possible!

Try moving the arms a little..
at the moment, these wind waker sprites are neutral- in Wind Waker you can
press down or left or right or up to move his other had to change the rhythm and length.
i will edit these now.

Well, there are thousands of sprites out there, so anyone can pick and choose one- whether it's tiles or those little barrels in the sea, anyone can contribute!

well, it's not perfect because the hookshot is almost as big as link

I dunno- it is more of a hud icon rather than the actual ingame hookshot..

Do you use MS paint for your sprites?? I use GM8 paint- it's waaaay better

Pretty cool, but what is that green line on most of the sprites?
Oh yeah, the chain sprites should be circular- as to keep up with the GB styled.. i might post the sprites i used for my game soon.

Hmm, your children sprites kinda look like adults. Most obvious is aryl, she looks like her grant mother with only different colors. Better yet, I think Aryl is a recolor of Marin from LA. IN TWW Aryl did not have such long hair.

Brutus, your hookshot definitly needs some work. Because the shooter part is way to large (about as large as Link's head) and the color style is way of. GB style has hard edges and these hard edges are also present in The Boy's enhanced GB style. Your hookshot does not have those hard edges.
Now that I mention it, that is what is off about The Boy's Aryl and grandma as well, no wonder I got the MC feeling with those.

i don't like it at all that you only make "enhanced" gb style... since the difficulty of gb style IS the limited colors and sizes that still show a player a good game =(

Well, some sprites are edited... you don't have to use them.

I think recolors like these ruin the style. :( I'm sorry but I don't see it. As mentioned before, the difficultly about the style is it's limitations - three colors and small sizes. I also don't think that it's necessary to eliminate the black line around the characters. If anything, it pulls it away from the style rather than making it stand out. Generally, the characters use a green, blue, red or yellow that is not present in any of the tiles. This makes them stand out.

No, he wants you to stop raping the style. Since all these sprites are looking over rushed with color, really, 16 colors in a 16x16 sprite with a original limitation of only 3 colors? Even the Minish Cap Link has a lower color count, it contains 14 colors.

what I think you could do to make them better is use fewer colors. I do like your enhanced sprites of link (and the bomb flower), and i think you should definitely use them in your game. the sprites of tetra and link's grandmother are also pretty good. What made me rethink your project is that I found every other npc sprite that you used when I was playing OOA and Link's Awakening yesterday. with the exception of link's grandmother and tetra, your npc sprites really need some work, because most of them are just enhanced re-colors. But you are so limited with this type of gb graphics. Either choose plain gb or just mc, not that un-happy medium between mc and gb. I agree with neik when he said that he got the mc feeling with some of the sprites. You might consider doing a mc/fsa wind waker sprite project. I think that would be very useful to have all those new sprites of mc link, and people will stop saying that you're adding too many colors

actually,making mc sprites are kinda hard to make but get use to making them.i just started making MC styled sprites and making some wind waker sprites.but im still improving on where to shade and shine

this kind of contradicts what I said before, but alot of these sprites would look better as plain recolors, but if you wanted to do a mc wind waker sprite project then it would give people sprites that have not been made yet

You do know that MC graphics are the 2D derived versions of TWW graphics. If it is "MC'y" (is that even a word) than it is also much TWW'y. The only way it would be more TWW is when it are 3D models.
