I have yet to see the original, but I heard it was a masterpiece. However, I finally did get around to seeing the remake, and my God. I really cannot decide if this is the best movie ever or one of the worst. I mean, from "killing me won't bring back your God Damn honey!" to Nicholas Cage dressed as a bear punching women out, I literally could not stop laughing.
Then I couldn't resist watching key parts of the director's commentary afterwards, and it became even funnier. Nicholas Cage was the one that changed large parts of the movie, for example "step away from the bicycle" *holds out gun*
It's like he was on a mission to sabotage the whole thing.
So yeah, I've seen worse films than this, but not since Manos: The Hands of Fate has there been so much genius in incompetence. This is truly a must see...for all the wrong reasons.
