Zelda Projects / Re: 3D Goron Racing [NEW CONTROL SCHEME]
« on: July 06, 2007, 05:52:43 pm »
Better now : )
My only problem with it is the collision with other Gorons, which may occur 1-5 times a second depending on which direction they're going and how close :\

Other than that, considering it's just a minigame, nice job

Yeah, already checked there.
It's always the first place I look when I need a sound effect.

If you're using a GeForce graphics card, the gorons will look PERFECT.

I have a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 graphics card and the Goron is incomplete.

Anyways, yeah.  It would have been tolerable if not for the controls.  It doesn't matter that they're meant to be that way or not, they just ruin the experience.

Anyone?

I mean,

Rather than having a rounded/deformed island like as seen at the top, yours is more geometric and looks like as seen at the bottom.

Look at the SMW map:
http://desktopgaming.com/desktops/thumbnails/166.jpg

Notice how (most) of the islands are not made of completely straight lines.

Better than before, but all of the islands are still all straight lines.
Also, most of the edges are pillow-shaded.

It's a step up, though  :D

I made a Zelda starter pack back in the day which features an ABS for rm2k3. However, I don't know how user friendly it is for novices. It can be found here: http://www.ion-gamemaker.com/forums/index.php?topic=4.0 Maybe it'll help.

Hah, I stole the bombs and arrows off of you for my own Zelda game : P
Had to modify them a little, though, because they got messed up when you went into a different room.

Anyway, Gaming World has terrible tutorials on ABS systems.  I suggest you just try out some things on your own.  I think I went through 4 different sword systems before I came up with one that was good enough.

I purchased an R4 for $32 and a 1 gig micro SD card for $6 from Amazon.com today.
Shipping was pretty high, ended up being about $50 in total.

Entertainment / Good DS Games?
« on: July 04, 2007, 03:07:14 am »
Hey all,

Since I'm going away (to Hawaii n___n) next week, I purchased an R4 so I could ..."buy" a bunch of DS games to play on the plane ride there and back (12 hours <__<)

So, I came here to ask you guys which games I should "buy" to take with me.
Suggestions are welcome : D

EDIT: Crap, this is the wrong forum.  Could someone move this to Gaming?
Thanks Limey :D

Hello all, I was just wondering if any of you had the sound effect used in Oracles of Ages/Seasons when you enter and exit a house.  If you do, please post it here.  Thanks in advance

Sorry, it's in RPG Maker form, but you can probably tell the frames apart. (24x32 tiles)

Uh, that sheet doesn't even have anywhere near the right amount of frames...

Here's the MC Climbing, ripped by me:

And here's tyhe MC Jumping, ripped by Xfixium (I think they're available for use... not sure):

I don't have the Roc's Cape, but I can maybe rip it later if you want.

Love Track58, though, it reminds me of MM
It reminds you of MM? How? jw

It's just the intro and the cymbals and the "mysteriousness" about it that reminds me of the final boss fight against Majora.  I dunno, it's just cool

Honestly, the music doesn't sound like anything special.  Most of it leaves a kind of empty feeling, like it could've been much better.

Though, I personally have had low expectations for Phantom Hourglass since it was announced.  Of course I'm going to buy it, being a Zelda fan, but I don't think it will become one of my favorites.  Who knows, maybe I'll be surprised

When I first saw the blue it seemed like clouds, which looked better
but now that I can tell its inverted fire it looks worse

meh, I'm still going with blue

the cloud one is best

Ok, ok.  I made the sideburns even /smaller/, so now they're almost identical to the original.
Its nothing more than a color change now, I guess, but what do you guys think?

I tried basing it off the Link's Awakening/Link to the Past artwork <__<
And yeah, the sideburns might be a little big
