I can't believe you're using the games factory for this XD, you must pushing this game to the games factory's limits.

Ah, the Z3 pwner finally posts. Any idea what month the demo will be released?
Thanks :DAh, the Z3 pwner finally posts. Any idea what month the demo will be released?
I dont know. Probably next month or something. But I am not sure.
Best fangame currently at ZFGC. Keep it up Kleaver, and DON'T GIVE UP!You can't say that honestly. You havn't even played it, for all you know, its riddled in bugs and you get stuck and have to restart every 5 seconds. (Though, from the looks of the trailer, that dosen't happen) Thats like saying that Oot 2d will suck without even playing it.
Nice to hear it inspired something.
Dont worry. The bugs arent so bad :D
It just needs a new movement engine XD
Kleaver, why dont you use goodnight movement engine?THATS A GREAT IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............ except hes making this in The Games Factory.
Yknow, this game would fit on the ds perfectly!Too bad not so many people know c++
Linkw
Really really promising game, good luck and keep up the great work! Just one bit of error, I noticed that in the trailer none of the flowers moved, I didnt know if you had that fixed already or there is a problem but I thought I would just say something, other than that it looks really good, you got my support!
So, if you smashed all their dishes, they'd have to go to the resturant to eat. Or, if their is no more wood, they'd go to chop some if their axe is fixed.
I'd love to be a voice-actor for such a cool game like this
Wow! That's very, very nice work!Durning z3 someone mentioned that. Kleaver said no because it would be too much work for him.
A question: Is this an online game?
**I'd love to do the voice acting,
but unfortunately I won't because I'm very crap. :P
I think voice overs do not fit in a Zelda game Nintendo never did it.
BTW, Kleaver, I did alot of stuff this week, and had not time for Pebbles. Either tomorrow, or next week.
Exactly, and it turns out the voice acting is harder to put in than expected. If I want the text and such running the same as before I would need to do more coding for it, and thats just too much work for all dialogues already in place.
Short sounds are fine though.
This game looks really promising. Just have to ask, are those yes/no things from Tales of Phantasia? They look so familiar...
Ah, when's the deadline ?
What kinda short sounds?
Coincidence, me too, or else I probably wouldn't have recognized them. I never had an SNES *sniffle*This game looks really promising. Just have to ask, are those yes/no things from Tales of Phantasia? They look so familiar...
Yep, I only played that game recently and liked them so much I put them in. :)
Hello! I'm really looking forward to this game. But I have one question: can you walk diagonally? I think it's important.
I've got a question: did you use Game Maker to make this?It was made in The Games Factory a product by ClickTeam. If your asking if Game Maker could do this, then yes it probaly could.
Yes, but I dont know anything about Game Maker, except how to tile.Don't ever switch. I don't want this game coming out like I think it would if the person is a newbie to game maker....
I love the way TGF works. And with this I would also like to show that with old software you can do amazing things :D
When does a demo come out? I really want to play this. It looks very good!
Yeah!!! And I hope you bring out the trailer soon. When does a demo come out? I really want to play this. It looks very good!
I am working on one right now. And it will be big. But first I think I will show a good new trailer. With some more features.
Not for a while though. School sucking up a lot of time. But I still work on it sometimes :D
Does that mean, the demo, (when it comes out) will include like a temple or two, and some side quests etc.?
so uhh... whats the progress?Yeah, could you please give us a release date or % completed.
Well, this game takes up a lot of time...and a demo will take weeks, but probably well over a month. I am reaching some limits of The Games Factory that hold me back.Limits? The Games Factory didn't seem limited when I used it...

Dosen't TGF have some kind of object disable outside of view?Well, this game takes up a lot of time...and a demo will take weeks, but probably well over a month. I am reaching some limits of The Games Factory that hold me back.Limits? The Games Factory didn't seem limited when I used it...
The active object limit. If that wasn't there progress would go a lot faster. :(
It does, but it will just count those anyway. I think....
It is one of it's only flaws. Well that and it cannot make normal fades.
I would move it all to TGF2, but there is a trial. And I wasn't planning on paying.
Yeah, the game is currently on hold. It's not really working because of engine/coding/software problems. And I just don't have a lot of time to work on it.
I will probably redo a big part of the engine and only keep the tiling. Meaning I will have to code it again for a part in TGF2.
I will probably need help with that though.

Well for what your doing I would recommend GameMaker, it may seem bizarre to you but it's really quite simple. It's like learning French after Spanish, it basically the same things, just some changes. If you think logically you can do it.
Yeah I could use help from you, maybe coding in MMF TGF2 just is too complex for me. I mean, it worked what I did. But I think theres a much simpler system to do.
Well, I would like to do that Ben, but it's gonna take a lot of work. So if you are really up for the coding this game requires...the most coding won't go up in movement of the character. But quest and item info. Perhaps I can make the game even better than it already is.
Restarting the game in GM is out of the question. The tiling in TGF took a sick amount of time and work. And I am not going to retile everything in GM. That would be time consuming and probably would not work properly.
I'm not sure what's happening with Benito but if he's left you hanging I'll be happy to help you convert the project to the Click2 range. Personally I suggest MMF2 instead of TGF2 because they're much more similar than the original range meaning it's worth having the extra features of MMF2.
So yeah, if you need any help don't hesitate to ask me :)
Before this was on hold, did the train actually go anywhere?
Before this was on hold, did the train actually go anywhere?
Ofcourse, it traveled accros cities and stuff.
I will take a look at it. I prefer someone who is online a lot. Which is Sol...perhaps I should give you both a chance. And maybe you can work together even.
I meen no offence, and i support this project almost more than my own,but what is the point of the game?erm.. the point in all zelda games is to defeat evil, in here as i supose you need to decide if the evil is acctually bad and not good... just read the story :P
Looks pretty awesome. But how can it be The Legend Of Zelda without Zelda???
Still looks like it's gonna be a cool game. Good luck!
Looks pretty awesome. But how can it be The Legend Of Zelda without Zelda???
Looks pretty awesome. But how can it be The Legend Of Zelda without Zelda???
Oh you mean like Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask, Oracle series? ;D
Zelda is more part of this storyline than those games.
Lots of Zelda games hardly feature Zelda, or only feature her in passing :P. Buy one of the Oracle games, or... Majora's Mask, for instance. You'll see!
THose would fall under, hardly featuring or featuring her in passing. Duh.
The demo will be very big. And I cannot finish coding it in TGF. So I need to move it. I could make a walking demo of the town. But it will not be finished. But perhaps I should do that...if people really want to see how the system works.Well, it would give people something to talk about while we wait for you to finish coding in MMF or GF2 or whatever your using now.... I'd do it. (The train better work or I'll be pissed... while, not really but I would like for it to work...)
I agree. I would like to see the quest system and explore the town, It'd give me something to leech off until the next demo, and so on until the finished product. The demo will be very big. To put it bluntly your code is unorganised making it difficult to work out where to start when it comes to porting it. I believe it would be easier and faster to rebuild the entire engine than port it to MMF2 (although Benito, my superior in Click Knowledge may disagree).
I also think that you should take the time, or get someone else to take the time (Benito? Me in the distant future?), to build a proper, mouse-click movement system because you obviously don't want one like the one in OoL because, to put it bluntly, it sucked - and I don't think you should stay with the keyvboard movement.
I already said it's quite possible to make a decent AoE style movement system in MMF2 with patience using a collection of advanced maths and formulas.

anyway... very good game concept... finally a game which isnt based upon action ;)
There is background music all the time...well, you should add some steps sound, and some other sounds, so it looks better
There are also step sounds. Are you sure you have the sound on at all?Woops, my bad :P yeah I really liked the demo, But i didn't knew how to get my first cloths Xd also some NPC have bad animation, the same with the main guy.
Is this going to be online?
Have keys set to each menu. Clicking gets repetitive after a while. For example, "I" is inventory, "Q" is quests - or something like that.
Also, clicking textboxes seems counterproductive. Maybe pressing enter would be better. You also might want to have a down arrow to show that there is more text to display.
Also, to close menus, I'd like to be able to just press espace or hit the icon at the top again, not have to hit a close button within the menu, such as in the weapons menu.
Everything else seemed perfect. I like the sound effects very much- but I don't love the midi music.
Wow, talk about detail! Nice job dude :D. I love the system, but it sucks that you have to actually be ON an NPC to talk to them. Try making distance checking or something.
I want to get the hammer from the shed but I cant find it :'( but i guess it's not programmed yet! ;D
This was very very good! The only bad thing was the bow, it just didn't feel right.
And if you want me to make this in GM, just ask me, I can do it if you want.
I can't download it! (Wrong URL or server's down) NOOOOOOOO! I have been waiting for so long, someone help me!
You forgot to add the CNCS32.dllyah that... >__>
fine. If I get a virus. I'm blaming you.
What the hells that susposed to mean?fine. If I get a virus. I'm blaming you.

Weather effects are all experimental. That is the fog layer...tsktsktsk.I know it is the fog layer, I was just asking why the houses weren't covered by the fog....
That wasnt in the description.
Hey Kleaver, Awesome demo, its fresh and originial, awesome custom lttp styled ties. The only thing that really bothered me was the controls. I'm perfectly fine wth the mouse but the directional buttons (W,A,S and D I believe) kinda bug me. It just seems really awkward. Why not just use the directional arrows?
I know it is the fog layer, I was just asking why the houses weren't covered by the fog....
Enough said. Though the Weather thing was a bit glitchy, as in that rain sound didn't wanna stop some of the time...
Also is it possible to finish the quests? Because I couldn't find a pub of a rabbit race anywhere...?
CNCS32.dll was not found!

I might be able to change that, but I do not see the akward part of it. Never play an FPS? ;D
I really liked the demo the town was extremeley detailed and you put a lot of effort into your tileingWtf man I thought you guys deleted his posts

kleaver... pls link the dll in the 1st post... there will be more people asking...
How humble you are to not even mention your name in the credit list >_>
neat demo, I got stuck in a bush next to the fortune tellers house tho
So this was a town demo, will there be any dungeons, monsters, spells, classes, and ask/say?
kleaver... pls link the dll in the 1st post... there will be more people asking...
Ah yes, the sign was simply something not added yet. As it had something to do with stuff not written yet. Should say the name of the person who lives in the house...Okay, good. Aside from those few things, it is an amazing demo and I hope you manage to complete this game. Good luck!
Just keep in mind most of them are very easy to fix flaws that my *cough* beta team overlooked
/me fires them both ;)
Personally, I find it strange about the dungeons etc. How are you going to make the story really evovle with Hyrule really good, I mean i know what the trouble is, but it's a bit hard to see how you are going to have to fight the king.
I downloaded the .dll file and the demo still says it cannot find the dll. I have it put on my desktop cuz I don't have access to some parts of the PC (limited account, not my PC and my sis doesnt let me d/l) so I'm screwed.Put the dll in the same folder as the game.

No I haven't worked on this project all that much. Like I said it needs a new engine and stuff. :-\
if you need help I would always like to try and help you :)
I love how fluent everything is, its obvious you really worked hard.
