Zelda Projects / [WIP] Reviving The Legend of Zelda: Sword of Power
« on: November 21, 2007, 08:40:27 pm »

Last year and earlier this year I put together a team with the intention of creating a short (short!) 3D Zelda game named Fall of Hyrule, after the opinions and attention received the people working on it began to grow and eventually the project was merged with 2A4AP's own 3D zelda project and Sword of power was born. we had the overworld designed, many models animated, a village and a dungeon (created for demoing the day/night cycle, talking engines and combat) The village was called Omedara Village (anyone who can spot the pun in there wins a pat on the back).

Anyways after having a good friend and work colleague of mine he has recovered almost everything that as lost during the floods which all but ruined my house earlier this year and I am looking to revive the project. I would like to ask the old members of the team to contact me here or by email/msn and anyone else wanting to help to post here.

To the old team: the reason i have broken the "it will be a surprise" silence is cos a)z3 never happened, partially our fault. and b) cos we need more people to help on this project.

If anyone missed the screeshots I posted previously here they are:

WORKING: Day/Night cycle, Village.

the model that was replacing xtremex's link model, animated by Piers:

You have NO idea how much hassle this FECKING model was, the gobshite.

Anyone interested?

Other Discussion / Vista, Missing keystrokes
« on: November 20, 2007, 01:22:45 am »
Does Vista miss certain keys when pressed? I thought that it was my new laptop being a bit !@#$% but I'm on my "housemates" (IE my ex girlfriend's) computer also running vista and it does exactly the same. Does anyone else have this problem typing fast in Vista or what? It's really REALLY annoying me now cos i touch type insanely quickly.

Entertainment / Under rated games
« on: March 01, 2007, 01:51:07 pm »
You know, there are some incredible games that go completely under the radar so I think it'd be good if people recommended their choice of underrated games that most people have never played. Any console, any generation. Which games do you guys love that never hit the big time.

Heres Mine:

Beyond Good and Evil: Anyone who has played this will tell you that it truly deserves a sequel, why the hell Rayman has continued while this was left to die is absolutely beyond me.

Slider: Ancient Codemasters puzzler, predecessor to Polarium. Turn blue squares pink, was so addictive you played until you could see through time itself.

The Windwaker: Still overlooked by some people as "kiddie" despite the fact that it is a beautiful, touching and genuinely funny game.

Evolution 1 & 2: Okay so the RPGing was flawed, mainly due to a lack of a decent overworld and having only 1 town per game but the characters were loveable, dialog was funny and the story in both was genuinely touching. Also features the most evil bad guy in any rpg ever imo

Sonic Adventure 1: Still the best 3D sonic ever, even if it was a bit crap playing any other character than sonic.

Body Harvest: Closest thing to GTA on the N64

So what does everyone else think? any games you recommend people play that they might have over looked?

Has anyone else seen this?

That is amazing, I love it. I can't wait to try it out.
In case there are people who didnt know about this already its a Total conversion of Freespace 2.
I hope that Starfox Wii will look something like those space missions in this trailer.

I was wandering through lost woods in Twilight Princess to locate a poe I climbed onto the large tree (the one with the doorway at the top from the first time you chase skullkid) and suddenly the "enemy music" started to play, I looked around but I can't see any enemies at all....I walked alittle further into the doorway in the tree and it faded, alittle further on still (just before you jump down) and the spooky music starts again.

Is there an enemy that I can't see there or is this a glitch in the game?

I've also noticed in west hyrule field that occasionally the enemy music will continue to play forever even if I kill every single enemy in that area, the only way to stop the music is to leave and then return. Very strange  indeed.

Entertainment / This is doing my head in. *Minor TP spoiler i guess*
« on: January 26, 2007, 03:21:58 pm »
I completed TP a while ago and I'm just going back over it to collect everything, heart containers, bugs, poes etc and there is a piece of heart in ordon village behind the house next to fados (links friends house) and rupees on the roof, how in the world do you get up there? I tried flying with cuccos but that doesn't work. Can anyone help?

can anyone shed any light on what the hell this is?
The HUD looks like Phantom Hourglass' but the visuals are kinda odd.

Entertainment / poes in TP *spoilers*
« on: January 04, 2007, 10:34:50 pm »
Those of you who rushed through the game and found the last few bosses and levels kinda hard should have slowed down...the magical armour depletes rupees instead of health but slowly drains rupees, right? well if you found all 60 poe souls you'd have been granted infinite rupees.

Magic armour + infinite rupees = immortality. Kinda makes the game even easier but who cares? its the most enjoyable game I've played in years.

also if you all knew this secret...um...sorry.

Entertainment / Minor problem with the wii remote
« on: December 15, 2006, 08:33:57 pm »
The speaker is loud enough to kill small animals* is there a way to turn it down? I can't see anything mentioning it in the manuals???

*This is an entirely made up-yet pretty accurate description

Entertainment / DS games indestructable?
« on: October 22, 2006, 10:56:58 pm »
My TP trailer DS cart from E3 2005 has just been in my washing machine and drier before I realized that I left it in a shirt pocket....I stuck it in my DS and it still worked lmao needless to say I'm relieved, just thought I'd share that tidbit of info with you guys

Entertainment / Golden Sun 1 & 2?
« on: October 04, 2006, 09:21:47 am »
I just thought they were kinda over rated, they were pretty games but the gameplay itself was just so dull and the story was your average imagination free rpg dreg. I definitely wouldn't be sad if there were no more sequels, thats for sure.

Feedback / "I'm Leaving" "I'm Back" "I'm leaving again"
« on: September 30, 2006, 12:32:42 am »
GOOD GOD! If people are going to leave then LEAVE!  >:(
How annoying is this incessant need for people to get attention by leaving only to return 2 days later?
HELLO? Its a forum, if you're going to go then go, there really isn't any need for enormous posts explaining your reasons. This is driving me crazy I go onto the hello/goodbye forums to say hi to new members and all I see is "Wah wah ZFGC isn't as good as it used to be I'm leaving forever" (cry me an effing river, ZFGC has changed deal with it people) then an hour later "I'm back oh god I missed you guys so much".

I'm glad Sol has chosen to freeze peoples accounts who leave. Way to be! If you say you're leaving forever cos you hate the "new" zfgc then it should be a permanent departure not some convoluted way of getting attention.

-EDIT- HEY! wheres my grave digging rant/ topic gone? :(

Entertainment / Anyone here old enough to remember Gargoyles Quest?
« on: September 28, 2006, 06:03:23 pm »
What an absolutely amazing game that was! seriously if any Capcom character deserves to be brought back it's Firebrand. Easily the coolest Anti-Hero ever....*hopes no one mentions Spawn*
Anyway I don't see why Capcom keep churning out mega man games, he's starred in at least 250 games in less than 20 years and yet their superior characters Like Firebrand get closed in a vault and forgotten about. I'd love to see a 3D Gargoyles Quest game honestly!
Anyone agree?

Entertainment / Natsume and Square-Enix LOVE the DS
« on: September 26, 2006, 12:28:39 pm »
Talk about milking franchises for all they are worth, Natsume are bringing three more Harvest Moon games to the DS on top of the disappointingly GBA-esque Harvest Moon DS. These games are Harvest Moon the Island I Developed with You, The Island Which I Grew Up On (are they the same game? actually I thik they are..) and Harvest Moon: Rune Factory.

Square-Enix are releasing at least 6 DS games, three of which are in the Final Fantasy Universe(s?) along side Dragon quest and magical Kingdom and a new Mana game, AWESOME!...I just made a mess thinking about them.....I er....yeah!  :-[

I love how popular the DS is, I can't wait for Phantom Hour Glass, although I read on GamesRadar that it wont be released until next year. BOO!

Other Discussion / Uppy the movie star
« on: September 17, 2006, 05:18:23 pm »
Well, slight exaggeration there, however I am an extra in two movies by Universal Studios, one starring Keira Knightly called Atonement (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0783233/), along with 2 of my friends and again tomorrow I'll be in a new movie called Magicians, for those of you in the UK magicians stars and is written by the Peepshow cast and crew  ;D
I start signing autographs.................................................

« on: September 15, 2006, 03:16:03 pm »
I got this the other day and it absolutely rules, I don't understand why it wasn't more popular, I seriously reccomend that if you see it going cheap in EB or where ever you snap a copy up. It really is an amazing game. I hope Ubisoft make a sequel one day...
