The games being horrible is entirely an opinion, while the system being underpowered is comparative to the other systems. The Wii is as powerful as it needs to be for the games that sell well on it; and most of Nintendo's market is based around first party titles. And really, there are only really three main console systems at the top - Nintendo played to its strengths, as did Microsoft and Sony as that is what they were known for.
