Does that surprise you? ZFGC is a pretty large name in the zelda fan gaming community (obviously) <_<

I figure I could have posted about it here, In fact, Nintendo Maniac asked me to post about it here from an email I received a few days ago... Just had time to check them just today, so yeah that's about it...

Quote
I come from ZFGC (zfgc.com), AKA Zelda Fan Game Central.  This project caught my attention instantly, and yet how can such a great fan-game/heck not be on ZFGC?!  I highly recommend making a topic there.  It'd be great for direct feedback.

And even more, there's a whole chunk of people that actively go to ZFGC (or at least used to) that are in your credits list and that I even know! (well, over the internet that is :P)  I'm sure they'd love to know that their work has been used in such a great working!

I'm Better known as SePH/Orochimaru over acmlm: http://board.acmlm.org/thread.php?id=9904 (http://board.acmlm.org/thread.php?id=9904)

.TakaM you may remember me asking for using some of your GFX way back then on the older forum and that's where all the content you made public end up ;) Aswell as many more things from the great people here. I might have forgot someone in the credits and would add them if anyone says I've used something from that person.

I've made everything related to the overworlds/inserted graphics and tried to use some of your tiles in another fashion to create new things along with my own of course.

We received many complaints due to the grammar/typos, but we have a team specifically working on fixing those, which is great. Next there are alot of complaints from many people about difficulty. We are compiling those everyday so that we eventually we fix the bugs and make things easier for it to be a much better heck. We might aswell add more custom graphics in aswell. Note that we have one spriter making sprites exclusively for this heck not seen anywhere else and he's doing many more already. He made that Link sprite you see actually used for exemple and some others. Don't expect a version 2.0 anytime soon, as the work put into this is a few years already and we are going to take a break. In the meantime if anyone plays it and are stuck you might want to reply in the thread at acmlm asking for help or send me an email at tac_seph@hotmail.com we will do our best to answer you.

The reason might be because some people can't play it. I sure can't. A more detailed instruction manual would be nice, you know.  :-\

No no no, that part I got. It's simply making to to where the stupid emulator would actually run it without freezing and forcing a restart.

How do I play the game?
Title: Re: LTTP rom heck - Parallel Worlds
Post by: cb43569 on January 11, 2007, 03:11:27 pm
How do I play the game?

It's an IPS file, a ROM heck. Download a LttP ROM (don't ask where to get that here), Lunar IPS (a software, find it at zophar.net) and the game file.

Use Lunar IPS to apply the game file to the LttP ROM then play the LttP ROM in an emulator. Then you're playing a brand new, completed Zelda fangame!

i played it ( was hard to find a rom with header in us ) and i didnt come to whole intreducion yet... i had 1 1/2 heart containers 122 rupees and a lamp... i was at the guard tower but died... the saving really sucks because everytime i start from the beginning... the sprites ( where i rememberd one house from takams work and those chests ) are all fitting in. i just find that the beginning is a little bit hard without sword, shield and anything :O

1) The story is no good, nor does it make any sense. All the typos and bad grammar make it feel quite amateurish.

2) It suffers from WAY too much backtracking. You have to go up and down various floors in the guard house just to get the sword.

3) The "difficulty" comes from poor dungeon and enemy design. To make a room difficult, he basically puts spikes in the way.

On a technical level, the game is great. The new graphics give it a fresh appearance. But the actual game itself is severly lacking.

How come you came from gamingworld to Zfgc to stink up this place, yo(Jk)? I thought the dungeon design was really good for a rom heck considering how hard it is to totally remodel the dungeons. Even using Hyrule Magic its hard to make a totally new dungeon.

Great job .TaKam!!!

well.... he is right... the "difficulty" ( i wasnt as far as he was ) is just that you have to go all way through the map and back and stuff like that,  with enemys on the map, in a dark rainy night, with darker tiles WITHOUT A WEAPON.... and that is the beginning... ( where you can get a 1/4 container an a full container... so max. 4hearts before the guard tower )

i find it a little long for the beginning... go to the guard tower,

normal zelda: hmkay, go up, there you are, meet guy, get sword, uh bad guys *killing whirl*

heck: go to the village, go without any meaning in a house and get bombs... go to a cave with a entry to dark to see, get 1/4 heart, go the church ( why ever), get a full heart, go through a cave with am fake enemy, a armos, bats and get a lamp, get out  *you are at your house* go back to the village, through a cave which doesnt look like one, go through more caves which are bad designed *open chests with nothing in it!* come to the guard tower, "with even more enemys for the non exsisting fighting ability*--> *died@searchingguyandmeetiunganaggressiveguardwithanhalfheartleftandstillhavenosword*

well some things that i never saw in a zelda game and the heck has:

- half an hour and no "swordlike" item
- the first guys you have to meet are "so far away"
- between you and your first weapon is an army of enemys
- you have to go through a labyrinth of some miles to get the first "mainquest"
- so much empty containers, even when you really need a heart
- so much money you dont even need
- no saving
- "noone knows where to go next"

well and thats sad... but like i said before, nice graphics :jellytime:

the emulator your using should have its own method of saving.

I hate this. Why is everybody so obviously biased? People are lauding .TakaM without even considering the fact that he didn't make it, and jumping on WIP just because he has 10 posts, even though he's obviously smart, wasn't mean, and didn't make any unfounded or flaming comments.

EDIT: I apologize to the poor mods for being off-topic. :) I haven't been able to play the game yet, but I'm going to sson.

@.takam: well you have posted that so people would comment a "in your eyes good work" and that people comment about your work is because your sprites are in the heck

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS, NOT THAT YOU'LL READ ANYTHING THAT SPOILS THE GAME BUT JUST IN CASE YOU THINK IT IS
its bugged i think
i have the big key for the guard room
but the goddamn chest that needs the big key wont open
also, theres two places i cant go, to my "father" in the interrogation room and when i get beyond the boss door
the room is filled with enemies and i dont even have a !@#$% sword for some reason :P
yea i read it was a hard game but... i cant kill enemies with nothing

what are you all tlaking about? I got the sword already (ask me how, you know you want to know)  and I can prove it below:

This game is really easy thus far, all you have to do is kill the enmies with the pots when you don't have your sword, and a word to the wise IT'S A LOT OF BACKTRACKING!

Pretty Cool ;) I have yet to find anything wrong with this heck yet.
Title: Re: LTTP rom heck - Parallel Worlds
Post by: pxl_moon (dotyue) on January 12, 2007, 07:59:51 pm
i got throught the tower with godcheat... some rooms are unplayable without ( like one with a key )

7EF34332 <-- Bomb cheat ( or buy some in the city, but you need mcuh of them )
7EF36DA0 <-- 20 heart containers ( you need it, really )

first try with cheats, because the overworld itself will be harder too and you cant open big chests and dont need it...

and for the story you shouldnt even try a save game, you understand the title/world after saving zelda ;P

if you still need help i will make a walktrough ;)

@dlbrooks: well cheating in that way? and staying right at the door to the father tsktsk

In Rauru's Ruins (Level 1 in parallel world) I have the chest key and the secret map thing but I can't find the big key. Does anyone know where it might be?

This game has a rather annoying 2nd part:
!SPOILER!
After defeating the third dungeon boss a voice tells you to go to the church.
You go there and its the same old: priest dead and zelda stolen senario.
You are told to goto the Smiths shop then after a long time you recieve your level 2 sword!
You goto to the castle, defeat whats his face and he takes you to the parallel world.
But wait you don't have the mirror do you?
WTF? There is no way back?

No, you can't get back until you have the Mirror.

The Mirror is in the Parallel Tower of the Dark/Snow World. You need the Fire Rod, the Cane of Somaria and Life to the get the top. And you get the Kokiri Emerald! Now you can have the Master Sword in the Ancient Piramid!

By the way, the Fire Rod is in Saria's Gardens and the Cane of Somaria is in Darunia's Cavern.

Ok, now I get it. What item is life? And where can I get it? Also could someone provid a walkthrough through Impa's ways cause I can't even get through the dungeon let alone to Darunia's Cavern.

Life = Energy = Hearts

Impa's Ways....I hate that dungeon :'(

Here is a map of Impa's Ways, made by Deflaktor from Acmlm's Board.
Just follow the arrows.

Thanks and sorry I thought you were referring to another item when you said Life.
Word to the wise don't use the walk through anything vertically and run through walls cheat codes. I tried, they crammed the dungeon so closely together you can easily get lost! Also the overworld crashes in some places if you use these cheats there!

Damnit!
I had a save when I was just about to get my sword, I re-loaded the game later, and saved over it at the title screen :X

Well, i didnt run back to get the big chest cause i thought i could do that later, but when i reenter Guardhouse i dont have that god damned key anymore. Does this mean i will never be  able to get the boomerang?

Edit: Might aswell ask, what the heck am i supposed to do after guardhouse? That stinking old man is out in the water so i cannot get there. Zora is near the Oasis... Should be nice to know where that Oasis is.

So far, im just getting pissed on this game.

Edit 2: Found that zora scale. What should i do in Nauruys bay after getting hammer and big door key? I cant find anything to do! That big room with floorboards whos comin out of nowhere just pisses me of!

This game really starts to annoy me... Will it ever get better or should i just stop playing it right now?

Keep looking... I think they designed it to be one big puzzle. Keep looking and find your way.

This is an awesome game! Everything is top-notch quality, and if you use the quicksave function for the emulator it really isn't that hard. The dungeons are cool, and this is seriously the first completed fan-game of very good quality I've seen.

8.5/10(it loses 1 because its basically the same story as lttp, and .5 because its pretty difficult at times)

Great job, euclid and seph!

OKay, I found out how to get past that hole in Nayru's Bay about the "The cane of Somaria isn't the answer", and now I can't beat the Armos.

Use the boomerang: throw it wildly at them and dodge in other words just keep throwing it and only concern yourself with dodging. It can be done.

Hey I know this topic is really old but I found a very weird and dangerous bug in this game.
If link were to jump off of any diagonal cliff, the game crashes.

Please contact Euclid about this.

But just to check, what Emulator appears to work best with this game?
I'm using ZSNES. If the emulator is the problem, which emulator will work?

yeah, if you avoid all the slanted cliffs!

*spoiler*
Gannon kind of unfair though! How high is his HP?

Edit2: I just realized I don't have the Silver Arrows! Darn now I gotta reset the game and go look for them!

This game is kicking my ass. I haven't even made it to the tower. In other words, I'm having a blast. :)

Warning: The Snow World's (formerly the Zelda3 Dark World) Parallel tower has a nasty death trap!

In the room with a triforce read block (grey rectangle with a triangle in it) which if you read it reads:
"If at first you don't succeed, Kill! I if your stuck just fall in a hole."
In that room, I forgot where exactly, every hole except one takes damage to you if you fall in them.
The one that doesn't will transport you down to a square room with no doors and three glitched Agahnim bosses!
A message appears as you enter the room:
"Prepare to meet your doom! Heh, not used."
Boss battle music begins and the three Agahnims begin attacking.
You can only hurt the red one be repeling the weird "stuff" they fire at you.
When you beat them two will disappear and a weird looking thing will appear from the Agahnim boss and move away to the right off screen.
Darunia's Dungeon Music begins to play. (Which is a little creepy)
With no way out, all you can do is reset! But beware! You need to make a backup of your srm save file before you proceed unless you do not want to use the save and quit method to reset!
After reseting and starting your file. The screen will be black! And in a few seconds the emulator crashes!
If you re-open the emulator and the game you will now see "your doom." All your saved data is gone!

How do I know this? It happened to me..
I had all crystals, mirror shield, level 3 sword, 12 hearts, red mail, pretty much every available item...
And now I have to start over! >:(

Edit: Could someone tell me WTF they put that room in there?
Edit2: Found a recovery! This will only work if you used save states!
Restart your computer (I know this doesn't make sense but you have to do it or else this won't work!)
When its back up open your emulator
Start the game
Now press the key or button that your emulator uses to load save state. (In Zsnes simply press Esc the goto file and open save state, click ok when prompted!)
The state should be loaded
Now press "Select" or the key or button you have assigned to the select button
Goto Save and Quit
Press Start and your file should be back!

FYI:
*Spoiler*
Here are all the clues:
Clue 1:
"You never land on spikes."
Clue 2:
"In the forth, eighth, and thirteenth
rooms of the tower you will find fake walls."
Clue 3:
"Find the Sacred Forest Meadow from here."
Clue 4:
"Ignore the previous message."
Clue 5:
"Three present and three in each world."
Clue 6:
"To see what is hidden from view hold the
twenty-forth letter and left shoulder down."
Clue 7:
"To Survive the Tower, bring potions,
boots, and bombs!"

Its a ROM heck, thus you'll have to find your own rom, as we cannot legally provide you with one.

Hi

I'm new here !
Just to let you know i finished Parallel Worlds a few months ago... not without cheats i admit.
I have a site : http://zeldahack.over-blog.fr/ (http://zeldahack.over-blog.fr/) with a COMPLETE solution for this game.

Hope it could help  ;)
I decided to make this site to make people know Zelda fan games to a wider audience.
At first it was for Parallel Worlds which is my favourite one (even if it's not really a fan game : it's a heck)
I write articles on every Zelda Game (Finished) i know : Solarus, Roth, Zaots or Zelda Classic games...

As you may already found out, English is not my native language... it's french.
So my guide/solution is in french too.. but it could help you nethertheless because all names used ingame are in English.

Feel free to write me if you need any help OR if you know about other fan games (finished ones !)
