Entertainment / Re: Japanese 3DS launch titles and Battery Life Announced

as ridiculous as it may seem, I dont really play my portables on the go. I'll take them to a friends or whatever, or maybe for a car journey, but I dont take them out and about to play. So while I'd prefer a longer battery life, I'm not sweating it too much.

the battery life is a blow, im kinda thinking I should wait for the 3DS lite with better battery life. (c'mon, we all see it coming).
Street Fighter, Ridge Racer and Layton all look good to me. Still hoping for OoT3d launch over here though.

(hey everyone, its been a while!)

Discussion / Re: Why did KingMob really quit the shadowgazer?
« on: October 16, 2010, 05:50:33 pm »
I believe what he said. He said he was approached to create an original game by a company, and considering the buzz and obvious talent that went into Shadowgazer thats not surprising. It's not hard to believe someone in the industry could have heard about him, and even less hard to believe they'd want to approach him about it.

Reese Witherspoon?
No, with a knife

Its 12 noon, I've just woken up, and this was pretty much the first thing I read. Today is a good day.

I played it when I was very young, so never got very far, but I definitely enjoyed it, and loved Lost in Blue aswell.

I don't even want to know what was going in their heads when they said "Hey, lets just add motion controls to the GameCube!".

They were thinking, "Hey, how can we be different without necessarily being good?"

I imagine it more like this:

"Grorious Nintender invent new controrrer! Change gaming!"
"Expensive! More than PS3!"
"Ret's attach it to a GameCube"
"HOYHOYHOYHOYHOYHOYHOYHOY IT PRINTS MONEY!"

I imagined it more like:

"okay, lets add something new. With the N64 we pushed 3d gaming into the worlds face, and it was amazing. Every console is now doing the same thing. So, lets add something new, instead of making the gamecube 2."

I seem to be the only one in the world that loves MK:DD. MY Favourite Mario Kart, although I love MK:DS for its portability.

I'm thinking Community Project. This would be genious as a Multiplayer.

It'd be a lot less work than the old Community Project. Seeing as there'd be no story, sidequests, characters...

Hi pedal, does it require a credit card?

If not i'll take one
you need one to create an account (unless its changed from when I signed up) but you never have to pay by it.

You dont have to have a credit card. Also sent the codes. Enjoy boys.

Oh, maybe I'm getting it confused with when you have to upgrade to a full account? I knwo i definitely needed one at some point, even though I paid via top up card. My bad.

Just as valid as Xph... Xiph... Xsomethingorother's post. Only he gave reason. I do kind of agree with Slimmy, Halo 1 and 2 engine wise were near carbon copy, Halo 3 gave a few modifications to the engine (I mean let's face it, the engine worked amazingly anyway). I cant comment on the other games though because my interests just never really grew.

Actually, Halo 2's engine was build from the ground up.  There wasn't anything that was copied straight from Halo 1.

O.o then they must of built it straight form the ground up and ended up with an exact copy? XD I dunno, I just felt they were the same when playing through, the way vehicles handled and weapons. Only difference was the worlds really. To me anyway.

Halo 2 had an entirely new engine. There are going to be similarities because they obviously tried to not drastically change certain mechanics.

I'm sure the new engine was much more efficient etc. but I played both a few days ago at a gaming session, and really can't feel that big a difference. Its just a bit more polished.

As for Slimmy's comments, I'll admit, Halo's fundamental game play hasn't changed much but that's what I like about it.  What keeps me on for the next game is the additions they put in. For example, duel wielding in H2, equipment in H3, and armor abilities and game types for Reach.  It's changed it just enough to make it fresh and interesting.

If you like the main gameplay mechanics, then its all good. Im not saying the Halo series is bad, or even that its a bad thing it hasn't changed, I was just saying it hasn't. I like the Halo games. Not amazingly, but I can have a good multiplayer session with mates on it. I do however think its overrated, with people calling it the best series ever.

Ready for REACH?

hell no.

Gaylo is not my type of game, and I don't see what is so great about it after its like 5th game.

First of all, shut up. Second, stop acting like Halo is a milked franchise. It's really not, especially compared to most Nintendo franchises, and Final Fantasy.

Wow, aggressive much?
Anyway, Halo is completely milked IMO. Nothing has changed at all from Halo 1 to ODST and by the looks of it, REACH. All its been is a graphical update every time. The first game was a hit so they've just copied it everytime. Even REACH with its new engine looks completely the same.

Are you saying if I flipped the head upside down it wouldn't work? I'm confused.

When KG turns his head around, it looks like another face, with that sprite it doesn't. Apart from that, its really good though.

Sneaking is always dreadful in Zelda games. The Deku Palace was awful in MM aswell as all the ones mentioned so far.
Personally I'd like to see a Zelda with bigger battles, maybe having Link have companions so its a slightly bigger group taking on an army.

The real question is what the hell will the legendary pokémon be? I mean, they started off with Fire, Ice, Lightning and a Genetically modified monster...fair enough. Next, wandering beasts of legend and some vaguely-defined godlike birds...Okay. The came the embodiments of the earth and the sea...fair enough...Next, masters over time, space and the god of pokémon? Fine and...wait, god? They've worked their way up to god?

Where the hell do they go from there?

But still, im excited. Nothing better than a new pokémon game. Or few things anyway.

I have to agree. I have both a DSPhat and a Lite , having got both not long after they launched, and neither screen had broken at all, despite playing many games where I have to frantically rub them, and I dont use any official Stylus'. Make sure you're not pressing in too hard, you dont really have to poke the screen, just touch it.
