Entertainment / Anyone still watch lost?

As the title asks.

What are peoples' thoughts on the current situation with the story, series and characters.

I think the whole time travel thing is the stupidest idea ever and the show has been dragged for too long, and flashbacks/forwards are confusing.

Sooo any fans or haters out there?

If I post saying my laptop is getting repaired it usually means I can't mod at the moment but I'd be back, it's a shame I came back to a PM saying I'd been let go for the second time after being sure I was in the clear with a valid reason.

As for activity-

You have to remember my time zone as well, I'm in Australia, I can't always be around when something happens.

Every time I came on I'd check the staff section and notice anything reported, and if something was what needed to be said was already said.

I don't know if Mammy is still a staff member but I thought at least he would stand against demodding me.

Dunno if you've decided yet, but I vote for Zelda! Seems way too much work went into it to be dropped.

Seeing wednesday at imax... if I find some money! Damn my lack of funding.

Looks awesome Mammy. Good luck with trying to get it to arcade.

My machine was definitely the problem. Works fine now.

I found one bug, when you hit an arrow key Link's animation speed increases. When you hit another, it increases, again, and so on. When you let one key go, his speed is lowered, and when you release another, it lowers again.

Good luck.

Well after realising it did have to be in C after all...

It might just be my machine being pissed off at the moment but the framerate I got was going from really high to really low. Maybe I have to update my drivers but considering how little is happening it's odd.

Oh yea baby, Australia gets it April 2nd, and we're already ahead of most of the world anyway. So it'll be April 1st in America while I pick up my beautiful DSi.

Am I the only one who's against DLC?  A game should include everything when you buy it.
The main problem with DLC is paying for it IMO.
Thank god a lot of steam's DLC is free unlike XBL.
Microsoft like money. It's no secret.

Entertainment / Fear 2/P.O
« on: February 12, 2009, 11:39:34 am »
I finished Fear 2 in a 13 hour run on normal difficulty, here are the thoughts.

Story
The game's story has a good balance of your team, yourself (Michael Becket) and Alma. It does continue the story from 30mins before the end of Fear 1 onward. There are never any cutscenes, it's all from first person, which definitely works as it does in other games.

If you haven't played Fear 1 you won't understand the whole back story, but get enough information to understand it in general... which is good enough, same applies to all franchises (eg Halo) really.

I won't summarise the story here, read wikis.

The end of the game is not a complete end, there is a twist that feels like something not well thought through by the developer... but it does allow there to be a fear 3 if I understood it right.

Shooter/Horror
The game is a solid shooter, gives you sections of controlling a Mech, sections of sniping, sections of general infantry and a solid choice with weapons.

The mech sections felt like they could have been better, I found them a little disappointing due to confined locations. But when you consider the city is destroyed... sort of understandable.

The horror theme is great at the start of the game, a good balance between spooky jumpy stuff, Alma (I !@#$% myself) sequences and shooting sequences. However, the more it goes on, every now and then you get what seems to be never ending shooting sequences that personally made me want to stop playing because it was getting boring. That's not a bad thing as such, it is a FPS.

But regardless of that balance change, you discover new enemies and see things happen and things attack you that remind you that you're playing a horror title so don't get too relaxed.

Graphics
The graphics for the game in all areas are excellent. Attention to detail and texture quality is excellent. Gore is absolutely awesome and believable. The blood splatters on walls are excellent, enemies exploding is beautiful. The placing of objects in levels are perfect, the level design itself is for the most part excellent.

Other stuffs
There are only loading screens between story intervals. Keeps you on the edge with no break for a long time.

It is a solid shooter, and at most times a great horror title too, but it isn't the game of the year.

My rough score: 7.5/10

If you plan to play the game, or have done so, or have any thoughts, post =).

Don't forget paying more for Xbox Live for less! U.S. get a lot more for less... over many countries.

Bioshock is rated M here in America...I'm amazed it was only 15+ in Australia, especially as sensitive as your government is to digital violence.

The rating is extremely deserved: graphic violence, tons of profanity, terrifying situations, and really mature themes in the story.
...Gaming ratings only go up to 15+. There is no higher rating which is why some games are banned. This is why this country sucks.
