(wip) LOZ: The Water Sage
« on: December 29, 2007, 04:52:52 pm »
Im working on my first game, The Legend of Zelda, The Water Sage. The story takes place at about the same time as Link begins his journey in Ocarina of Time but follows Princess Ruto. You get to play as young and adult Ruto!

The Zoras had heard about the evil man from the desert attacking the Great Deku Tree so Queen Zora wanted to hide the Spiritual Stone. She knew that Ruto would not let anyone take something special from her so the queen gave it to her. Ruto was sp enampred with the stone that she always carried it with her.

A few days later, The Zora King ordered a lock down on Zora's Domain. The desert man was spotted in Kakariko, King Zora knew he would be coming to get their Spiritual Stone. Ruto, wanting to protect the stone, went to hide in Lord Jabu Jabu, the Zora's patron deity. Ruto often played inside Jabu Jabu but he was different now, he had been cursed by the evil man! How would she get out?

I dont want to say too much about the story line so thats all you get! Its still in the early stages of development but I have one screenshot:

I love Link to the Past sprites so I decided to use them. Credit to Silverbolt for the Ruto and Arctic Ferret for the Zora, though I recolored them.

Apart from the statue having it's outlines cut off this is a great looking game. Your tiling is LTTP worthy

Is it me or is the waterfall slanted O_o? But yes, is a nice map, bar a few graphical innaccuracies.

Check the file format. You'll find the reason why

Being jpeg is irrelivent, I was refering to problems like the waterfall, bad edge problems on the top cliff and so forth.

Actually, having varieties of backgrounds and effects make the game more interesting than a flat world :P
