ZFGCCP isn't endorsed anymore.

ZFGCSDK wouldn't have to change at all.. why would it? :p

I say, shorten it to an acronym "ZFGC" and have a title under it that says something like "The Definitive Fan Game Network" or some stuff like that.

We may be moving away from TLOZ, but that doesn't mean we have to change our own history. It's ZFGC. Not FGC, not TFGC.

Why not focusing in Indie development and in Fan gaming development, thats what we currently have in the gaming making boards, we have Twinsen the best example of Indie gaming, and we have The Shadowgazer the best example of fan gaming, but I like the idea keeping ZFGC is something good.

In both you mean? We've already though of that and have several plans in regards to it.

Looks good, and Chesu was busy posting. Poor Mammy though. Also, the ads are quite cheesy, and the copyright has an in-da-window there! Looks good though, can't wait!

No, people are welcome to continue it. We just won't promote it as anything to do with ZFGC. It just dosen't fit the description of a community project as far as we are concerned.

I was going to say that dolphins are never in committed relationships, but even that would not make sense and I know what you mean, >.<.  The Community Project is still getting worked on, but it was in the opinion of those working on it that they could do better if they made some things private; and an official ZFGC community project would essentially have to always be public.

Whoever made that title with the phoenix wings on either side deserves a handshake or something...  Give that guy a Klondike bar.  O:

That was me :P

Anywho, I'm torn about the "Z". Initially I agreed, but it started to fizzle out. Removing the Z makes this site a different entity from its former self. This place has become "Zelda Fan, Game Central" instead of "Zelda Fan Game Central". Zelda fans all united in discussion about games and entertainment and whatever. The development aspect faded, and sadly it would not come back even if the name gets changed. A whole new site would be needed for that... It's depressing, but true...

Exactly. If you want a development site, make a new one, but don't try to drag ZFGC along with it. We will kick and scream the whoooole waaaay doooown.

If ZFGC used to be more oriented towards development and in more recent times we have become more community based, it is not as if moving back in the direction of development would hurt the current community aspect unless the changes themselves infringed on the community or the community was vain about trying to live some more rather than wait for death.  Then again, the previous run-on sentence is in lue of what could be the previous post's sarcasm.

Hasn't this been discussed before? Hasn't there already been a multitude of topics about this kind of stuff?

EDIT: Some topics discussing the future of ZFGC

http://www.zfgc.com/forum/index.php?topic=347.0

Based on the lack of activity on a working site so far, few helpful upgrades to the forum, and the phailed work on the whole news thing and the ZFGC Wikipedia, I now am very doubtful that, even if a site were created, that it'd be updated enough or have enough constant, quality content to draw new people.

The whole point is that this is a fan gaming website. Zelda Fan Game Central. It doesn't matter whether you drop the Zelda or change it to a website - the aspect of this site that makes it what it is is the fan gaming. And with pretty much no more fan games being developed - I mean, yes, there are some games being developed, but the majority don't have updates, demos, etc. - you're going to have to find a way to get quality fan games churned out, or you may have to change the emphasis away from fan gaming. Kind of sad - but it's true. Look at the ratio of completed fan games to dead fan games; it's pretty pathetic, really. People are going to want to see awesome fan games, not post in spam or talk about random BS in other boards; people can do that on Gamefaqs, or 4chan, or the Nintendo forums.

If you want to kickstart development, you need spriters, coders, musicians, etc. who are great at what they do. Few of those people exist, here. Yes, people can do these things - but when you have 100 walking demos that are of poor quality, rather than merely not attracting people, it actually can have the opposite effect and repulse people.

Regarding the ZFGCCP, I think the staff's handling that has been poor and unprofessional, but that's another story. At least I can understand their decision.

I agree with dropping the focus from zelda, just not the acronym.
Also, I love the idea for the mockup, it looks great.
