Title: Screwin around in GIMP
Post by: .Syko on April 19, 2008, 03:28:35 am
Well, as I said in my intro, I like to just sorta mess around in GIMP, the Gnu Image Manipulation Program; a free program that is sort of a copy of the concept of Photoshop, but is open source, lightweight, and more user friendly in my opinion.  One reason I like it so much is the abundance of tutorials and starter ideas out on the vast internet today, so you really can't get bored with it.

Well, there was a tutorial for Photoshop that seemed like it was 'GIMPable', so I just started to mess around with the different filters and layer styling, and came up with this: My Flower.  I think it looks like a flower, though you may not.

Well thank you.  the explosion part is a nice comment, because the tutorial was for a manga style explosion.  I think i can get it to work with that said.
