edit: The word was spaz, I forgot to mention it wasn't said in the article.

phew, that must be some word.
And you never know, it's not THAT offencive, maybe they are just over-reacting.  Still though, they pulled it out of the market, so that must mean something.
And how could they miss that word?  That must mean they knew about that word, and decided to go along with releasing it, being lazy not to change the word...

From what I hear the translated equivalent for this word is not seen in an offensive way in certain countries leading to a perfectly acceptable word in one language being unknowingly turned into something much worse.

Pyru you should know, they don't consult people as to whether they have taken offense from it, they just assume, or want to cause a problem.

I once had a dog called Spaz....he chased after a cat and got killed by a car....in retrospect the name was quite fitting..

C'mon people, lol until about ten years ago the "Scope" shops were called "The Spastic Society" it's a word and used in context it shouldn't have become derogatory.

No idea, I say spaz and I didn't think anything of it. Its just how I didn't know that gyp'ed was a racist term against gypsies. Its kind of over-offended to take it off the shelves because of this, but I don't know. Its different depending on where you are and what kind of person you are if it offends you or not.

These people have obviously never played Postal2 or any of the GTA games, you get called far worse things in those games :D
