Okay, I'm speeding up the competition since the spots already filled up quickly.
The theme for each bracket will be Zelda related (this is Zelda Fan Game Central after all :P), but different brackets will have the ability to do a different Non-Zelda Spriting Style for the subject matter.
Bracket 1: Beginner
Your Goal is to make a Sprite Sheet using the spriting styles of Game Boy or NES graphics. It must have an Up-view, Down-View, Left and Right Side views.
The Subject of the Sprite Sheet must be: An original Dungeon Boss that would make sense in a LoZ game.
Bracket 2: Intermediate
Your Goal is to make a Sprite Sheet using the spriting styles of ALTTP or Fire Emblem graphics. It must have an Up-view, Down-view, Left and Right Side views.
The Subject of the Sprite Sheet must be: Any kind of NPC from LoZ: Wind Waker or Ocarina of Time. The 4 views must be of the same one NPC.
Bracket 3: Advanced
Your Goal is to make a Sprite Sheet using the spriting styles of MC/FS/FSA or even Freestyle graphics (The new ZFGC Sprite Style would be cool in this area). It must have an Up-view, Down-view, Left and Right Side views.
The Subject of the Sprite Sheet must be: Any kind of NPC from LoZ: Twilight Princess. The 4 views must be of the same one NPC.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION. PLEASE READ
You may begin spriting now. You have until April 27th to submit your entry. You MUST submit the entry to me in PM like you did when you signed up for the competition. Once all 24 entries are in, we will begin the next phase of the competition. Two weeks is plenty enough time to make 4 sprites (3 actually since you can make one side view and copy and flip it to make two side-views). Please use the below Sprite Sheet for your entry:

1.- Can we make more than one npc, since it says that it needs as minimum, one up, down, left and right views, but only one sheet :P.

I can guarantee you the beginner bracket will get about 8 giant Gel creatures :P

hah yeah, only perhaps some of those in the beginner's bracket are there due to a closing of other brackets...such as me. lol XD
... and certainly don't plan to do any gelatin type of creature! :)

Meh, I'll start working on mine, but it's just something so hard, that there's no way anyone who really is a Beginner at sprites can make something decent... :\

Actually im doin a GB Boss with a MM styled name. :P
Masked Mimicry Shadow: Magus
He looks like a huge Link with all of his coloration being dark shades of purple and he has a ball at the end of his cap. Shadow Link but better. 8)

...You !@#$%. I was going to recolor Link GREEN and call him Poison Link, since Dark Link isn't original.
...Then again, Link IS green...

Anyway. Sorry everyun. But I am quitting. I tried at least right? :/ Well...
I will make Masked Mimicry Shadow: Magus in my own style. But I think the 3rd bracket is full. I will still post it when im done. (not in the comp though) Sorry to act like a !@#$% especially in bracket 1 but LA style is hard and Z1 style is harder because it has no outlines!
PS: Just keep an eye out for Masked Mimicry Shadow: Magus if you could. Unles there ARE spots open for Br 3...if so tell me now and be granted cookie shower.

What I meant was the NES or GB style doesnt have to be LoZ, AoL, or LA, OoS or OoA. For example you could do a boss sprite like a Giant Dragon but say um, in Super Mario Brothers 1 style graphics or a Giant Evil Zora creature in Metroid 2: Return of Samus style.
So far thats 2 people who quit. I'll make note of that. And I'm not a rip off. I'm spending almost $100 of my own personal money on prizes for you guys. :P

I did try. And it was a hard decision because I only have one wii game. But ohk. Wait...We dont have to do Z1 or GB? Ack! We have to do...ANY style from the GB or NES. right? If so im in again.

As far as my injury, it still hurts and I've been sick the last 4 days with some stupid virus that's going around (and my extreme exhaustion due to my hectic work schedule causing me to get better slowly). But I should be back up and running soon. I'm off work for the next two days, so if I feel up to it I'm probably going to try to work on an episode of Link's Quest or two and play some GTA: Vice City Stories.

Still pretty stuck for ideas though. If this weren't a competition, I'd have tons of ideas :)

I drop out, the whole reason I entered the beginners bracket, was so I could sprite a character... come on! And yeah, there's a prize, but I still can't sprite a boss. Remember last time I tried? Didn't end too well.

Well, if your mom doesn't like giving your address over the net, then no prize for you. Even if you got it without her knowing, it's perfect blackmail for Moldy, and she'll most likely wonder where the hell you got it from. Tough luck.

Oh come on. A boss is as hard as you make it. A circle with eyes and a shadow could be a boss, but so could a giant lizard creature with six heads and eight arms...

My point exactly Sir Stu- Sir Syrus. Mine is a perfect middle. A giant blob with a shadow two eyes...AND A MASK! :O My mum will never know if I win that I get my prize.

Wow...well... I'm still in, and I submitted my sprite..what, like two days into the competition. I thought it was fun, and it stirred me to creativity! I'm really proud of my work; I think you need to be personally proud of what you do, and not worry so much about whether or not your sprite is better than someone else's. Perhaps you should ask whether or not your sprite is better than the last sprite you made; that's always a better comparison to use. Time really is a difficult thing... you live by it, and you die by it, true? lol

oh definitely. lol, im a regular philosiphizer...lol. Yes, I am really glad to be on this forum. I was on the older one before,... and i used to be on gaming universe, but I was looking for a more Zelda oriented forum, and this is it!

Next time, people, please try to finish all of your sprites. :S
I mean, I believe there are lots of guys and gals on this board that could never join in because the brackets were full. Maybe we should do some better planning before signing up, and actually pull ourselves to finish the sprites. And, to keep people interested, give a clue to what will be done, but give out the details for a valid sprite when the competition begins.

The best option (in my opinion) would have been to put no limits whatsoever on the brackets. That way we'd get about 30-40 entrants, but at least 10 would actually make something :P

I'll highlight all the rest who sent in stuff last night when I get done with this episode. Theres more than 5 entries. Today's been a lot busier for me than I had originally planned (sucks to have to still work on your day off of work lol).
