Well basically you just chuck your guys onto their faces. The best bet is to wait around until it "drills" out of the ground then quickly swarm it with the C-stick. Yellows are also handy since they fly the highest.

Oh, and please note you only need to kill the bird at the very edge of the area as he has the ship part inside him.

...I consider myself to be a bit of a Pikmin expert.  :P

I lovwed the original pikmen and i really hope that they make a load of new ones. :) pikmen reminds me of my childhood

I must say pikmin + a touch screen and a map/status screen sounds like a lot of fun.
