ALttP 3D model... kinda

Last week, I modified TP Link's model to look like ALttP Link's model. It turned out horrible. Terrible. Hideous. I am horribly ashamed of it. So, here it is.

As you can see, it's a disaster. So, the next day I grabbed pieces from all of Link's models in the game and started from the ground up, choosing the pieces that fit best. You may not notice too big of a difference, but in my opinion the new model looks much better.

So now I come to you, the posters of ZFGC, to ask... what should I do with the model? I'm trying to think of what kind of cartoon would be appropriate for ALttP Link, but nothing comes to mind.

Well, as you can see the sprite is shown in the video, not the art for the character. The only things taken from the art are the shirt and boots.


Also.. the art is a more credible source? If I recall correctly, things that are actually in the game are considered the most canon.

The art is always more credible, especially in old games. The sprites are all supposed to be based off of the art but they often have trouble getting things to look just like it.

..That doesn't really matter, though. As I said, the model is based on the sprite. I have my reasons for maing him that way.

Anyway, does anyone have any funny/interesting ideas?

Remove that part of the model, it isn't supposed to be visible. Its a separate object so all you have to is select it.

I kinda liked the first one better...  :(

That second version makes Link REALLY look like a girl.

I like it, buuut... it's hard to make it look good when he has pink hair, you know... you should try and re-texturize his face and stuff. And I think you should make him sleeveless.

Delko; I left that on because without that part and without the mail, you can see where the thighs I made him end.


Fox; I agree, the dark skin and pink hair does look somewhat effeminate. The fact that TP Link's jaw curves so high up doesn't help matters... but like I already said, I'm happy with how he looks. Both the in-game sprite and the character art show him with a brown shirt, so that's definitely non-negotiable.

I honestly love the color of the tunic, the one in TP is so drab and boring.
