Sound Issue

I'm not sure where this belongs...move if needed.

Anyway, I have this weird problem where whenever my screensaver comes up, or I leave my computer for long periods of time (i.e. go to school - and I turned off my screensaver), for some reason, no music on my computer will play. The speakers work, I'm sure, and I don't know what kind of computer setting it would be - but it doesn't even start. I double click a song, and it just stays at 0:00. And this problem applies to anything - WMP, iTunes, iTunes music store, realplayer, anything. When I restart my comp, it works fine. Any idea on what tis might be, and how to fix it?

Well is perhaps the ram is max out or not enough virtual memory.

Definitely not the problem, because I have a gig of ram. Not much is running in the background, and I checked the commit charge and it is low.

Anyway, I think it might be something with iTunes. It happens randomly when I'm playing music in iTunes; I can't hear music anywhere else, either (on the computer). I just exit iTunes, restart it, and all the music on my computer works again. It's weird.

i get the same thing. and when i open media player everything crashes...

i can't be bothered to fix it so i just listen to stuff on my ipod now lol.

The way I see it, you should back up all your data files on a Disc-RW and do a destructive system recovery.
