The issue that came up in the other thread was the fact that PAL gamers will not have had the game as long as Americans so it would have to split into regions

Regions would work better, I think.

Although, you'd need at least 32 people.

The two contestants could choose special options like metal stamina. And they could choose a time suited for their countries, instead of having to have one universal time.

As an English guy, I'd say go ahead and continue- the learning curve can't be too high for us to match your level by the time we get it, since we're already regular Smashers.
