Three Hundred Mechanics

This guy made a challenge for himself, that every day for three hundred days, he will post a gameplay mechanic that he hasn't seen before in a commercial video game.

My favorite so far is his "Negative Space" in which the entire field is made of black or white, and to the black half, white is open space and black is matter. But to the white half black is empty space, and white is matter. it's hard to explain with out pics. He explains it better on his site.

This is effing awesome!!

I'm totally gonna make the negative space thing. I already have some ideas to add to it.
- Polygon/vector based instead of pixel based.
- More colors than black and white (otherwise it will get boring with only two team).
- 3D scene option as alternative to 2D. (dunno how I will make the colored background part here, maybe fog?)
- Physics engine (think a bullet making a foot of a silhouette be like a stone and then he falls over violently to then become a part of the opposing space... priceless)
- Grey space for puzzle/capture the flag/race/free-for-all and gray matter for wars. Maybe also as an option whether to be space or matter but also whether to be there at all.

Will probably only make for UNIX though, it's gonna be FLOSS (GNU GPL) though so someone might port it.

Will maybe put up a topic about it soon! Just need to start the basics.

This guy is brilliant, but I just wish he'd have 5 a week, and on the weekends, he makes comics or something. I <3 AMD.

I like the ideas, some are very innovative...but really some aren't ideas at all just little additions to old ones >_> perhaps thats just me.

I like the turn based strategy game that each character is made up of an army, that is cool.

Suggestion-  Don't use more than 2 colors, would get extremely confusing in a fast-paced environment.  After all, black and white are the most obvious opposites.
