Uh, rugby and cricket have always been big favourites in the UK. Around here, hockey (as in, actual hockey, with a ball) is quite popular... and golf's certainly on the up; getting very popular indeed.

Those are all the ones that come to mind. By football's by far the most popular; everyone knows how to play and everyone does.

Cool. What IS cricket, exactly. I've heard it's just American baseball with a paddle instead of a bat.

Diving I assume is more popular for Brits, (yes there is a sports version)
Rugby, well because we made it. And Cricket... All of which (except diving) I'm not interested in. For me its Mountain Climbing, Absailing, Racing, and other 'extreme' sports.

EDIT: Oh Pyru beat me :(

Crickets a sport where you hit a ball with a bat... simple and boring.

It's only in the loosest sense similar to baseball. Baseball's a lot easier to understand than cricket.

Lots of differences, like the cricket ball has to hit the ground, and the objective is to knock down "wickets" rather than to get strikes. It's really complicated and I really don't know much about it to be perfectly honest.

Oh, I guess tennis is quite a popular summer game. What with Wimbledon and all that. Tally ho.

Hmm. Cool.
I guess you probably already know what sports are popular here in the US, but I'll name them anyway, in order from most popular to least (from my point of view of course):

1. Baseball/Softball
2. Football (American)
3. Basketball
4. NASCAR
5. Hockey
6. Soccer
7. Track & Field
8. Cycling
9. Swim
10. Lacrosse

Mainly, football (soccer...) is that... "bomb", the number one sport...
Other than that, or at least here, there isn't really a number two sport. It would depend on the communities and the person is searching, me, in example, am inside a tennis community, so, around me, tennis is famous... Or something like that... >_>
But now that I think of it, I guess basketball is the "number two" sport around here...

What about soccer and tennis?  I'd say that's the only sports people play around here... :/  Atleast in Stockholm.

Oh I was about to write tennis, but in the end I thought it couldn't match with IH or HB. And I thought soccer was obvious. But I think ice hockey is just a bit more popular. At least it was before. I dunno.
I don't personally really find sports interesting anyway. >_>
