what kind of characters r entered

i haven't seen the character comp before and i was wondering what kind of characters r normally enetered.

Any kind, really. From human superheroes to weird persons and talking animals. Even fictive species or weird stuff. Anything that lives, doesn't exist and doesn't violate ZFGC rules (no porn entries :P) should be able to enter.

To give a quick impression; we've had talking dinosaurs, flying potatoes, beautiful girls, guys with long blades, mysterious men dressed in black from head to toe and even an MMORPG character. Perhaps someone still has all the pictures.

and how much detail do they usually have.
eg a whole world created for them, just a picture or a quick synopsis for who they are.

Whatever you feel that suits your character best.. I know I'd vote for a character that has a huge story attached to him rather than for "Jack the Warrior, who defeats evil and lives in a castle. The end."

However, there are usually a lot of characters entered purely for comical value. So I'd say either create a well laid out 'serious' character or come up with something insanely funny. In 2005, a serious character won and last year it was "Discuss".. a dinosaur who mainly liked to, as you might guess, discuss things. That leads to the conclusion that both categories have an equal chance of winning.
