Well, remakes aren't ports, but yeah kinda dumb. Nintendo needs to invest time in new games, not new versions of old games.

It's not a remake. It's a port with Wii controls.

There's a new Pikmin in development for the Wii! But also a port of the first Pikmin.

I find it silly how a console that can play Gamecube games has to remake...Gamecube games for it.

Jungle Beat has redesigned levels, apparently.

And it's so people will actually buy them this time around, considering how terribly the Gamecube did. Because, you know, for Nintendo to make decent games they need to be sure people will buy them. I'll probs buy Jungle Beat and Pikmin- since I missed them last time around.

Remakes aren't a terrible concept—I just think it's a little unecessary to remake games that aren't even old.  I mean, the Wii can play Gamecube discs.  They should remake some '64 games, if anything.  (not virtual console, but full remakes)

The problem there is Nintendo thinks that old games need to stay the way they are, which is why they don't add new features to the VC versions. Why it's okay with GameCube games is beyond me. Probably because they don't need to update the graphics. I'd love a shiny new remake of Ocarina of Time or Super Mario 64 though.

A remake of Mario 64 would be terrible. I just can't see an upgraded current-gen Mario 64 retaining all its charm. Perhaps Pokemon Stadium with DS connectivity? Basically, Game Boy Tower connects to the DS (so it's DS Tower now?), you transfer your Diamond/Pearl/Platinum data over, some kind of locking system prevents you playing it on your DS at the same time to prevent complications, and then when you're done you save+transfer it back onto the DS. It sounds pretty lame, but I can't think of any other way of doing it. Unless they release a DS game reader for the Wii Remote. Hell, if they made expansion packs just to use with Pokemon RBYGSC, I see no problem with them doing it again.

And yeah, Ocarina of Time should stay the way it is. I don't WANT a shiny new OoT- I like the music in MIDI and Hyrule Field polygonal yet charming. Although I wouldn't mind a visual upgrade in OoT, that would probably mean they'd make the music higher quality too, taking away the sounds that made it so great.

Your old copies of the games would still work you know. Nobody would force you to play the remakes.
