Also you forgot the grand daddy of them all. Sonic Generations. It has a very real shot at grabbing GOTY and that hasn't happened in a long time for a Sonic game
It definitely has a shot (and should), but it won't.
The "nominations" you'll be seeing on those shitty GOTY award lists will be Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, Arkham City, Skyrim and Assassin's parkour (and Uncharted 3 if that's out this year, I think).
As for the games on this list.
Arkham City - I'm having hopes for this, but definitely not on my buy list just yet. It looks good, but also looks a bit overpacked. Not that it's a bit thing, but so far it sounds like it'll be one big clusterfuck. Would be nice for a game and an expansion though. Their Pre-Order DLC crap is also a reason why this fell off my quick-buy list.
Elder Scrolls - Looks like it's going to be alright, seems to be taking some things from Fallout, like Lock-picking, which was nice. I still think it's going to be a disappointment, and is very overrated. Like Wally said, Mods will help this a whole lot. I also hear it's main focus is consoles, so lol.
Skyward Sword - I can't wait enough for this. It has basic Zelda gameplay, and a lot of new things. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the whole Sky overworld with Hyrule being in hubs, would have been neat to have both, maybe the Sky being quick access to areas, but it won't stop me from loving it, just like Wind Waker and the Sea. Everything about it honestly looks and sounds absolutely amazing and I'm definitely getting this, along with that preorder package.
Modern Warfare 3 - Same thing. Yawn.
Battlefield 3 - Wasn't that impressed with the Beta, even if it was an older one (which it shouldn't be). Might skip this one unless a lot of my friends pick it up, then I might. Not impressed with having to use Origin along with that integrated browser stuff either. lol battelog
Assassin's parkour - Played a bit of the first one, never got into it, never gave it that much of a chance I guess. Still would rather to play the previous ones first.
Sonic Generations - Looks like it's going to be a hell of a game, even if it's a one time thing. Going to grab it once it's available on Steam soon.
Saints Row the Third is also coming out and it's going to be absolutely amazing. It's going to be my Game of the Year I'd say (that or Skyward Sword) and I can't wait to play it. Had it pre-ordered since it was available.
Can't say I'm excited about anything coming out on the 3DS (don't have one anyway). Ocarina of Time 3D is a bit interesting, but not enough for me to grab one (especially with the inevitable revision soon). Super Mario 3D Land looks alright, a bit slow paced. Might be fun but again, not enough for me to get a 3DS right now. Nothing else coming out in the near future is enough either. Might wait for another new Zelda or (hopefully) Majora's Mask 3D.
Don't remember what else I was interested in.
