Entertainment / WoW !@#$% Has 36 Accounts, Raids by Himself

In what is perhaps the most shining example of obsession and geekiness I have ever seen, a fella by the name of Bradster has 36 World of WarCraft accounts that he plays on 11 computers simultaneously. He mainly seems to be doing it because he doesn’t like to rely on so many other people to get a raid going, which includes attacking the Alliance capital cities, and on that front I can totally see where he’s coming from.

I hate those Alliance douchebags too, but I’m not about to drop $5711 per year like Bradster is. The best way to get to them is to just live well, right? Well, Bradster doesn’t appear to be letting the Alliance off the hook so easily, as he plans on picking up 36 copies of Wrath of the Lich King on day one, spending around $1500, just so he can have a raid group of level 80 Shamans terrorizing Stormwind as soon as possible.

Here's a picture of him:

Earlier today, cakefarts remarked on recent outbursts of "Traitor!" "Terrorist!" and "Kill him!" at McCain campaign events. "It's easy to rile up a crowd," cakefarts said. "Nothing's easier than riling up a crowd by stoking anger and division. But that's not what we need right now in the United States."

In response, McCain senior adviser Nicolle Wallace released this statement, NBC's Kelly O'Donnell reports. "Barack cakefarts's assault on our supporters is insulting and unsurprising. These are the same people cakefarts called 'bitter' and attacked for 'clinging to guns' and faith. He fails to understand that people are angry at corrupt practices in Washington and Wall Street and he fails to understand that America's working families are not 'clinging' to anything other than the sincere hope that Washington will be reformed from top to bottom."

"Attacking our supporters is a new low for the campaign that's run more millions of dollars of negative ads than any other in history."

*** UPDATE *** McCain campaign spokesman Brian Rogers adds in another statement: “Barack Obama’s attacks on Americans who support John McCain reveal far more about him than they do about John McCain. It is clear that Barack cakefarts just doesn’t understand regular people and the issues they care about. He dismisses hardworking middle class Americans as clinging to guns and religion, while at the same time attacking average Americans at McCain rallies who are angry at Washington, Wall Street and the status quo."

Tl;dr version: McCain advisor supports McCain supporters calling cakefarts a terrorist and issuing death threats; finds cakefarts defending himself unreasonable.

Other Discussion / AIG's brilliant spending following the bailout

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Days after it got a federal bailout, American International Group Inc. spent $440,000 on a posh California retreat for its executives, complete with spa treatments, banquets and golf outings, according to lawmakers investigating the company's meltdown.
Robert Willumstad, former CEO of AIG, testifies before the U.S. House in Washington on Tuesday.

Robert Willumstad, former CEO of AIG, testifies before the U.S. House in Washington on Tuesday.

AIG sent its executives to the coastal St. Regis resort south of Los Angeles, California, even as the company tapped into an $85 billion loan from the government it needed to stave off bankruptcy.

The resort tab included $23,380 worth of spa treatments for AIG employees, according to invoices the resort turned over to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

The retreat didn't include anyone from the financial products division that nearly drove AIG under, but lawmakers still were enraged over thousands of dollars spent on outing for executives of AIG's main U.S. life insurance subsidiary.

Good to know where our money is going to.

And its not on a Nintendo console. And you know what? That warms my heart, because Nintendo and it's fans have talked about nothing except "innovation," like they truly know what that means. Bad graphics? Gameplay is better anyway. Broken online? The core gameplay is the main point of the game anyway. Constrictive controller design? It benefits the industry as a whole and pushes creativity.

MY ASS.

LittleBigPlanet is the most creative and imaginative game of this generation, and easily has the best graphics and art style to date. Not only does it use a regular controller, but it's on the ever-so-horrible PS3, you know, that $600 paperweight you Nintendrones always talked about?

This game is wonderful, not only for the great idea and great presentation, but also for the fact that it points a really huge middle finger at nintendo fans. They have nothing like this, and never will, because their system is just a money maker for Nintendo. It does NOTHING to push the industry forward.

Entertainment / Jack Thompson: Feds are tapping my phone

Disbarred attorney Jack Thompson thinks the feds are tapping his phone. Or maybe his computer.

In a letter sent earlier today to U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey, Thompson grumbles about once again being detained while trying to access the federal courthouse in Miami:

When I went to the Ferguson Federal Courthouse today, the Deputy Marshals were waiting for me because they clearly knew I was coming. The black binder that contains alleged “threats” was opened to my page, featuring two pictures of me, and with the explanation, read to me by the Deputy, that I am to be escorted because I am about to be disbarred, because I have filed lawsuits that have been dismissed, and because I allegedly wrote inappropriate letters to judges...

The fact that this multi-page binder was already opened up to my page as I walked through the front door suggests surveillance by some means by the US Marshal. There have been other bits of evidence suggesting this surveillance, but this is the clincher. The most likely means of doing so are my cell phone use by satellite monitoring, land line phone taps, and/or taps on my home computer.

When the Deputies illegally visited my home they stated that I was in fact being “monitored...”

This is better than cable TV.
